They're Sengoku-period Japanese/Spartan supersoldiers, given proto-informational tech, mixed with the Fremen from Dune (but with Chakra instead of Spice) . Everyone is war-torn. Everyone has trauma. And almost everyone in the village knows how to fight.

I already comment on the very 1st video i watched and was surprised and overjoyed seeing an awesome mom spending time with her son while on camera (can be nerve wracking for us parents) and told you to cherish her! My mom reacted the same way when this episode aired. We watched the series together but when Sasuke's backstory was revealed she got visibly upset. She didn't like Sasuke but never hated him, or wanted him to die. Even after learning the truth with Itachi she couldn't forgive him for this episode Naruto and Jiraiya are her favorites
