They are really good! But don't forget that poses/body language also really help. If all of them were just standing straight and looking at the camera, it would be a little harder. But for example, Haru's pose with her hands in fron of her tells you she is shy/kind/polite, while Ann's hand on her hip shows confidence.

@@AzureKaioshin i get where youre coming from but i dont really think being insightful really applies to jpegs. these design elements are chosen carefully, medium length black hair that is allowed to intrude on the face is typically used to show you that a character is quiet, or reserved, or is likely to hide their emotions, perhaps even an aloofness; glasses are often used to indicate intelligence and in many cases a sense of trustworthyness, which is why an evil character masquerading as a good guy will often take the glasses off; gloves or an eyepatch or a mask or something that covers something normally visible show that the character is hiding something, think about someone in a short sleeve shirt with their forearm wrapped up, youll likely ask what happened; a uniform worn properly shows you someone is really put together, while if its hanging off someone it shows a carelessness or maybe a recklessness, or some rebelliousness; people with light hair colors like blonde or red, when most of the characters have black or brown hair, often have something unusual about them, a talent or a unique background. these elements are reflections of what your first assumptions are likely to be, its why theyre effective.
