Also the general consensus for the music video is that it follows the guy in yellow and his friends living life after breaking up with their ex and just acting out doing crazy shit trying to pretend like they're happy and living life to the fullest. the musicvideo basically has multiple of those people going through the emotions of the song, heartbroken and at a shitty place trying to cope with those feelings by being crazy (which is where a lot of behavior like that stems from for a lot of people, coping with bad situations) and in the end one of the guys (yellow guy) actually becomes emotionally distant with the group as he probably comes to accept his feelings.

The imo is about how heartbreak can lead a person to do reckless things just to get over it. He starts having fun at first but the more he does it the more he doesnt want to and the more he misses him. Thats why our main character (guy in the yellow) stops partaking in the recklessness and just stares at the sky or watches. He gets angry with himself, starts to try to better himself, fails, resorts to salvaging the relationship, fails, tries to get back up but just like quicksand, the more you struggle the faster you sink. This song is truly amazing.

The purpose or reason behind the video in the background is to show this group of young guys who are unhappy in life, in a bad situation, pulled the short end of the stick, and now they act out, do bad things, etc. to try and mask and hide their true feelings of loneliness and sadness, it is truly heartbreaking. Some speculate Joji when he was FilthyFrank is similar to this, because he was acting all crazy and stuff on the internet to mask how he truly was feeling, and it is reflected in this song and his music in whole.

It's a reflection of depression , heartbreak , anger , hate . A destructive lifestyle that comes along with self hatred . I feel this video , with the song along with it makes it pure art , a reality for alot of us that have a pure hatred towards the world due to our past . In this he is talking about the woman he has lost , his real true love . He goes through other woman trying to fund her again but never will . Love is still there but shrouded in a world of hurt , we don't want to go on but we do and fill our lives with chaos instead , self destruction. I watch this and cry my eyes out because me and my other broken brothers are all there for each other but we're alone , we cry on each others shoulders , we fight we drink and destroy everything around us because that's what our minds have come too , my mind is this video . I also think the animals living with them despite their living conditions actually shows that they still are soft at heart, going along with how they were able to fall in love in the past and foreshadow how theyre still able to but just not the right way. And they know what caused these heartbreaks and what ruined everything but are just trapped by reality. The video basically describes the deep broken depressed state a person can be in from pain/trauma. the video is essentially the guy and his life on the surface (chaotic, fun, adventurous, free) and the lyrics to the song is what's going on in his head. the video shows the contrast of what people show you and portray while feeling something completely different inside. Here’s what I think is going on in the music video. From watching the music video in my opinion I believe the guy in yellow is the one that is you can say the main character. He is doing all these crazy antics and crazy things with his groups of friends to numb the feelings he has and to distract himself from what he is feeling. Later on in the video I start to notice he is not really partaking in the activities and everything is just hitting him and he can’t handle it anymore. In one frame it shows “what does a woman want in a man” he may feel as tho he wasn’t enough , that he messed up and ofc going thru all the emotions you would feel after any hard break up. to me the video seems like a circle of self harm without directly harming yourself, yellow knows he's hurting himself but doesnt want to stop so he can flood out his pain and its a dark reality no artist has ever depicted this well before

I think the combination of the music and the video actually intensified the effect of a simple and good melody. It just shows how a good melody and chord progression can interpret a video without the need to actually listen to the lyrics. The video clearly depicts depression and a cry for help and the melody just emphasised that regardless of what the lyrics say. Its further intensified at some point when the 6th minor chord is transformed into a simple major 7. Yes the video actually helps a lot.

I feel like the lyrics reflect the story of someone who’s broken up with a s/o and has rebounded with someone else but cannot get the same satisfaction and is looking for a glimpse of the past, but the video reflects the destructive behavior of someone who is going through a break up in order to feel something other than sadness, which is why everyone is acting so wild and there are very few signs that they aren’t enjoying themselves

I like to think the video helps to visualize what the internal chaos and turmoil is like for the singer, who’s trying to look for something from his past relationship in this current one. It’s literally tearing him apart. He’s “squatting” in a place he doesn’t belong and causing an immense amount of destruction, all so he can try to find something from his old relationship. Sometimes it’s easier being somewhere you don’t belong than no where at all.

I saw a comment saying the lyrics were about a past relationship "cuz sometimes I look in her eyes and that's where I find a glimpse of us" maybe hinting that he isn't happy in his current relationship "Why then, if she is so perfect Do I still wish that it was you? perfect don't mean that it's working so what can I do?" when he looks into the new partners eyes he sees a glimpse of "us", a glimpse of who he really wants but he is always disappointed."I try to fall for her touch but im thinking of the way you are" "said im fine, said i moved on but im only here passing time in her arms" moreover confirming this. I think the video in itself is a work of art, especially with the music, melancolic and reflective lyrics paired with the destructive and troubled lifestyle showcased in the video show us a much deeper meaning to the song itself, in my opinion, giving us some perspective of how some peolpe cope with certain feelings, spiraling out of control and living a reckless and self destructive routine. At the end we can see the yellow shirt guy falling to his knees and (as i like to perceive it) being emotionally where he started, meaning the life he was living to fill the void of heartbreak didn't do anything good for him wich happens in most cases like this one

This song shows that his first love is not with him anymore and he try’s he’s best to move on but everything he does remind him of he’s first and he uses his new girl as a way to go back in what he felt ,and this is relatable im trying to move on and my first love I’ve done everything with her my first everything and it was a blessing until she changed and left and I tried moving on and have a girl now but anything we do reminds me of my past texting,her eyes, and otp and out stupid laughs reminds me of her ,but I have the best girl ever now but it’s not her
