My Montblanc Collection Series Part 1: 149 Fountain Pens

That 149 100th anniversary edition is gorgeous. Agree with you that the box should also be special. I have nice wooden boxes from Sailor KOP regular production pens. Sometimes I feel that some companies claim to be more "environmental" just to make more profit. And yes I would love to see more details from all of your Montblancs. :)

A wonderful video Clare, thank you so much for sharing your passion on one of my favourite pens! Would love to see more videos when you have time. I have ten MB 149 pens and one is from Kirk Speer a broad italic and it is one of my favourite writers. I love EEF and crisp italic nibs and grind many of my own pens. I have two 149 Origin pens one will have an OBBB and I also have an OBBB from 1952 (they are very different and I can’t wait to get it back for a more thorough comparison)! I’m also so excited that I just received my 149 PL with a EEF bespoke nib. It is a brilliant writer. Enjoy your writing journey and your travels.

I’m hoping to do an event at our local MB store after the holidays for a Bespoke Nib. I’m off to Europe for the month to visit many pen factories. Thanks Clare! This is my first time seeing you on your own channel. I have seen you on Appelboom and Juicy Broads and I too am only in the FP world since March 2023. I do not have a Montblanc. Not sure if I will ever own one. Thanks for sharing. I like the collection of people that is in this hobby. Thanks for sharing your enthousiasme !!! Last saturday i ordered a 149 with rose gold. My first bought pen was a 145 and was more than 40 years ago when i was student. I made Lots of kettels of spaghetti sauce for a pub in Brussels to buy it. That 145 is still pretty and a good weiger after all this years. Price was even not 100 € that days, now 970 €.

So beautiful! What work did you have done to the 100th? Was it smoothing? Ink flow?

@@Mercy_Pants I had just a little smoothing. I found that sometimes with any pen new of the box may need a little smoothing depending on how a person writes with it. In speaking with friends, some like it a little toothy, while others want it very smooth. I like it a little smooth.
