@ David Rubin - u don't need to have ties to Africa to live in Africa. U must or can make friends with trust worthy Africans who make regular trips back to Africa. Just choose carefully and wisely. Friends u make at college or university are some of the best. There are foreign students from African countries in various universities in America and Europe

Not knocking Ghana at all, but you can live in India for much less, and the atmosphere and ambience there is like nowhere else. I'm not just saying that because I'm of Indian origin, it really is special. Things have crept up in price in recent times. But it's much cheaper and nicer than Ghana. And yes, I have been to Ghana.

My sister, Ghana is very cheap it all boils down to the kind of life you live. You can easily live a comfortable life from 500 to 1000 cedis (100-200) dollars in GH. Kudos though for your decision to come back home 👍

Please add some basic vegetables and spices to your garden not only flowers. You can pot them too. Make some small compose at the corner of the wall and use it to grow your vegetables. You'll be surprised how much you can save on food

2705 Ghana cedis in British currency is about £370 a month is pretty decent. But of course she does not pay rent because she owns her home. If you pay rent then it would be the same you spend in the UK in the monthly basis!

honey you can downsize ya budget even further kwraa mpo, stop using ya gas for cooking, use coal-pot and charcoal, save some money on gas...also no need to buy corn-dough from the market, buy ya own dried corn, go to the corn-mill and viola(make sure to add some cassava to your dried corn before milling)...low-key tho, i was excited when you showed The Palms, been there couple times whenever i go checkup on ma land in that area

With the lizards, you could try mincing garlic and leaving them in the corners of your rooms. You could add salt to the garlic. Or leave egg shells around your home. It works. I do it in my house.

I Enjoy watching your videos. I always say those living in Ghana are magicians because things are very expensive and most people don't earn a quarter of the amount you are spending. I think for the grocery, the amount is reasonable but try cutting down on the electricity and the fuel. Alternatively you can try ceiling fan it consumes less energy. Enjoy your stay in Ghana.

You spending on Electric is abnormal even with the air conditioning. Find someone qualify to check your meter, wiring and appliances. With water, if you planing to stay longer then you better of sinking the mechanised well which will cost around Gh10,000 cedis, that is drinkable too.

I, do get enough to live on here in Las Vegas, and feel that being in Ghana, my Retirement income will be just fine. People are asking me .. what the heck.. why Ghana? I, met this woman... lol... I, know, scammer.. but no.. she is not, we have been talking, video, texting for over a year... I, have called her church leader. She and I, go to the same church tho mine is in Las Vegas and hers in Accra.. but I, got her Leaders number from our Church's website and she did not know anything about me calling. I, feel she is a good, honest woman who any man would be proud to be with. Again, thank you for sharing your monthly budget.

Great and inspiring video but the prepaid got me!Just left Gh on the 27th of Feb been there since December..in my newly(3bdrm) built house..the fan is on 24/7 on 5(max) even when am on the compound cos of the hot temps and all gadgets working n running every sec but never spent such an amount on my prepaid...kinda worried for you.I hope it's a newly installed prepaid meter without arrears(past bills due to a conversion from the post-paid to prepaid) by any old tenant or something which you are being siphoned for.If it's faulty too could result in the surcharges.You might want to visit the local office and request for a new meter cos this is absurd and can really weigh in heavily on your monthly budget.Am so proud of you..you go gyrrrrllll!🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗

As a Kenyan your budget without rent is pretty decent. Especially including petrol. Including rent in a nice place with water it easily comes to 900-1000 dollars. But in a cheap but safe neighborhood it could be 850

Great information. How about home property tax and home insurance? A sure way to lose your home in most countries: not paying the government yearly property tax and not having insurance to protect against home damage, i.e., fire, storms....etc. What are the requirements in Ghana?

Hi Ama. Am just wondering about where you live. If you live in Accra i would recommend a small village called Asenema which is near Adukrom in the Akwapim region for your food stuff. It is so reasonably priced you could spend less there
