@ David Rubin - u don't need to have ties to Africa to live in Africa. U must or can make friends with trust worthy Africans who make regular trips back to Africa. Just choose carefully and wisely. Friends u make at college or university are some of the best. There are foreign students from African countries in various universities in America and Europe

Not knocking Ghana at all, but you can live in India for much less, and the atmosphere and ambience there is like nowhere else. I'm not just saying that because I'm of Indian origin, it really is special. Things have crept up in price in recent times. But it's much cheaper and nicer than Ghana. And yes, I have been to Ghana.

You are 30 years old and living as if you are already retired and now just enjoying your pension. You seem to have planned your life well. Even if your money is from rich parents or you worked hard for it. Your youtube might make you a ton of money. Keep on doing you. You are on the right path and seem humble.

Accra is darn expensive. Over concentration of economic activities and public sector business over there collectively is the cause. Have a 3 lane each lane highways to the nearest regions and see magic of businesses and jobs and people moving to these regions. #GhanaBeyondAccra.

What about home insurance? Do you have to pay it? How much? And what about property tax? Cost per year? How much do I need in USD to buy a decent low cost home? Say 2 bedrooms with running water?

Great information. How about home property tax and home insurance? A sure way to lose your home in most countries: not paying the government yearly property tax and not having insurance to protect against home damage, i.e., fire, storms....etc. What are the requirements in Ghana?

Hi Ama. Am just wondering about where you live. If you live in Accra i would recommend a small village called Asenema which is near Adukrom in the Akwapim region for your food stuff. It is so reasonably priced you could spend less there
