Instead of Benedryl ask the doctor to switch you to zyrtec which eliminates that drowsiness. My first IVIG I did the Benedryl and hated that drowsiness which lasted most of the day. Zyrtec made a big difference. Best of luck!

I have hypogammaglobulinemia, am a type 1 diabetic awaiting a pancreas (alone) transplant, & had acute renal failure a few times. I got a Power Port for IVIG + nutrient replacement due to celiac disease & am thrilled ditching multiple sticks, but as an emergency nurse, I am surprised how Huber needles are rather scarce.

Any time I have to go to the er/hospital I always make sure to bring a few of my preferred huber needles because they NEVER seem to have any stock of the length I use.

I have no idea where this guy is based out of, but the cash price for me to get 500 mg // kg as a 100 kg man every 3 weeks is around $30,000 US$. My insurance tried to refuse to pay at first, making me face a $140,000 debt, but I got assistance grants that reduced the debt to around $4000.
