This song is laying in bed in a college dorm room holding the person I love and drinking in the afterglow of a long, warm day that never seemed to end in 2009. The person is now gone in my life, but this song will always be in my heart. It's strange how people we still love turn into memories. Even stranger is how people leave you, but songs never do. Just a part of you that you can't shake. It is unfailingly sweet and painful. Beauty can be crushing.

@@brendantaylor3570 man I have that pain as well! Everytime I hear this album I remember sitting in my ex's house in 2011, God I loved that woman. Happiest time of my life I've never healed because I never got closure to anything just there one day promising to stay in touch then...gone. bless you friend, I'd bet we would be good friends.

Years ago Jim James mentioned in an interview how he liked Simon and Garfunkel and wanted to make lasting music like that. Well, the harmonies in this owe a huge debt of inspiration to The Only Living Boy In New York. Go enjoy that song then come back here and be delighted by the comparable talents of Jim James apparently harmonizing with his own vocals. Two great songs sharing these ethereal harmonies.
