In pure Buddhism, there's no ancestral worship. Dead people are reincarnated & Buddhists do not pray to any spirit beings anyway. The Chinese practise a mix of Buddhism, Taoism & Confucianism, hence their ancestral worship. Christians believe in the worship of only one God. If their ancestors were Christians, they would meet them again in heaven one day anyway. So death is both a mourning as well as a sort of celebration. The Bible says, "O death, where is thy sting?"
