I really, really appreciate the crystal clear explanations, and the level of thought and detail that goes into your videos. The little details like the angle of the bobby pin (I know from experience that it makes a ridiculous amount of difference), how to shake out the hair without hurting your neck, how to section and wrap the hair, the suggestion of the shower mirror, how to tie the freaking hair scarf. These little things can add up to a much better 'do. Absolutely fantastic work! Thank you!

Finally back home and a 2nd video today, YAHOO! 1st how much hair can one person have, I mean WOW! I've been very dubious about wash n go's but all these wash n go video's are making me anxious to try one! You probably used the whole dag on jar of that SM Deep Treatment Masque! I used it once and it was okay about a 7-8 on the moisture/softness scale! Question, if you apply the ACV and then apply your oil trapping it in, then drenching the hair in water do you steal reap the benefits the ACV? I've never used flaxseed gel on soaking wet hair, will try! You said "Nice" girl that's an understatement, that is SPLENDIFEROUS! Dag, I don't got no diffuser, shoot! This is a very good process and the closest I've seen to a wash n go because you did everything while in the shower, except the diffusing of course(we don't want a fried Whitney!) What is this 80's sounding track it's cool wit the "clap claps" but I have no idea what he's saying! You are so funny, you got whip lash from shaking your hair out... okay torso twist it is! I'm due for a wash so I think I will be trying this and with the weather cooling down I think I can get away with using the Shea Moisture flaxseed gel which has glycerin in it...oh wait I forgot that fast, no diffuser, oh shoot I got to put this off for a bit, but I will definitely share when I do! GREAT tutorial, 2 THUMBS UP! Thanks for sharing!

OMG!!! I just tried this method and can't believe the results. I did this method but started off with your 25 minute co-wash and detangler. First off my hair was tremendously soft and detangling was a breeze. I put on my styler while in the shower like you recommended and... WOW!!! I never thought to put my styler on in the shower. My curls have NEVER been defined like this I actually want to rock my wash and go and I never do. There is absolutely no frizz. Thanks so much for these tips! I am overjoyed with the results and my hair actually moves now. Haha! Love your channel!

So...... I really want to know why did this video get 9 thumbs down. It's a wash in go for heavens sake. Are you mad because wash in go's don't work on your hair??? Thanks Whitney for the video. Keep up the good work.

9 folks just have a need to be faceless nay-sayers. I mean....if you don't like it, just move on. I think they feel like they matter when giving it a thumbs down. If it helps them think they matter, let them have it.

some people just did not like the style. I did not give the video a thumbs down, but i did not like her hair. it reminded me of sideshow bob from the Simpsons. I thought the texture was nice, but it just looked too poofy. I think she could have achieved a more defined/sleek look if she just sat under a dryer or let her hair air dry. But thats not her style. She likes wild/untamed hair. Glad she was happy with it and thats all that matters.

Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! Because if you I took the plunge and tried the wash n go on my daughter by keeping her in the shower with soaking wet hair to apply product. I had always been scared of trying it that way and opted to apply gel on damp hair. I watched this video today and I swear that was not only easiest thing in the world, but also the BEST results ever!! I've worn twists all this years and I was always scared about not having time to style my hair. I've been watching you almost since you started and because of how my hair is had never attempted what you did on this video up until this week. This looks great!!I My worst enemies when doing a wash and go's are shrinkage and night time routine! I love the idea of adding the products while your hair is completely wet. Then stretching as it dries. BUT I'm still skeptical about the night time routine. My hair squishes and molds into shapes overnight, but I'll def be trying this when I take out this sew-in!

So I just tried this out right after watching this video and I'm totally IN LOVE with how my hair came out. Normally my wash-in-goes are insanely frizzy because my hair is just frizzy on its own, but putting the product in before I got out of the shower really helped cut back on my frizz! I'm so happy right now. I will be doing this all the time! Thank you for sharing this!!!

Oh my god. Gyal. 3b/3c hair, my usual wash and go was a literaly disaster everytime, natural curl pattern would just frizz up. I thought it was just my hair, but I legit tried this wash and go to the tea this morning and I don't think I've had better results.. ever. I didn't even use special products or sealant! I just paid attention to the detail of how you were treating your hair/washing/detangling it and its incredible how much of a difference it made when i just gave it a little more care. Usually people make jokes about how I look electrocuted, today my hair is fleeeeeeeking. Thank you so much!!! Gyals, try this is out and pay attention to the details of how she does it, you will be beyond impressed with the results.

I love watching your videos. I have just reached my first year of being natural. My hair has grown so much over the months that I am astonished and so proud of it (I've started treating it like it's my child lol). While my hair is still a long way from being anywhere near as long as full as I want it I watch your videos to keep myself positive about the outcome and the long detangling and failed style attempts. You remind me that it's all worth it.

Yaaay my first wash n go was a success thanks to this video!!! I have 4 b/c hair do of course it needs moisture, so I added a step. When I applied the leave-in conditioner, I also used pure shea butter and then my oil. I did this twice before rinsing and then applied the gel (I just used Eco). Also when drying, the diffuser is a must and make sure you pull your hair taut like she said when using the concentrator . I bought a $19 Conair set at Walmart and it worked great. As far as all the other steps, I followed them exactly. I used the shampoos and conditioners that work best on my hair type. THANK YOU FOR THIS VIDEO!!!

I just did this method and I am in love. I've been wearing my hair natural for like 2 years but I've been taking care of it for about.....4 months? My hair is basically a frizz magnet and a mix of 3c/4a. I've been trying everything. Everything has left my hair frizzy. I try this and I love it. My hair had major shrinkage (usually down to my shoulders) it was down my ears. Now after waiting, ITS PERFECT: I LOVE THIS

She says that a great wash n go depends on the cleanliness of the hair: it has to be completely clean which might be the reason why she used a clarifying shampoo, which could be why she had to apply conditioner to prevent her hair from feeling stripped. But shampoo raises the dirt; I'm not understanding the point of putting conditioner right over hair that is still marinating in shampoo and suds that contain dirt that was raised up. Doesn't a pre-poo with either conditioner and/or oil or sulfate free shampoo help prevent the hair from feeling so stripped?
@basscamel94468 жыл бұрын
sweetcaramel239 ik it drives me crazy, but it works for her. So.....Oh well lol.
@Jayariee7 жыл бұрын
Jazzerlat45 you understand the difference between shampoo and conditioner? Shampoo actually removes dirt and bacteria while conditioner is for softening hair, easing detangling , maintain moisture and sometimes it acts as a treatment for your hair. Pre pooing is to reduce the harm done by a drying shampoo (not all clarifying shampoos are drying). But putting conditioner on a shampoo does the same by cleaning the Hair of dirt and bacteria but softening and moisturizing in one stel

You are amazing! I am a 4B texture and I have tried wash and gos before, but I never seemed to get it quite right. This works perfectly for me! And using the banding method at the end, it lasted 4 days! I was scared to detangle it so I used your 25 minute detangling method. It took me about 40 minutes which is still an hour less than it usually takes me! And I lost less hair! I am so glad I took your advice. And I got so many compliments too! Thank you!

First of all, I Love your hair!!! I'm almost 16 and I've had relaxers my whole life! The closest if seen of my natural hair was when I went like 2 months without a relaxer. Anyways I really really wanna go natural! I have long relaxed hair but I'm tired of how damaged my hair feels and how irritated my scalp gets when I get relaxers. I'm really active in sports so I don't know.. Any thoughts from anyone will be appreciated!

Yea u should go for it :) in my opinion your hair is a lot healthier, stronger and it grows more ... But it does take a lot of patience and experimenting.... learning about your natural hair texture and what it needs and u have to always keep in mind that everyone's hair is different... I'm 17 and i was always having my hair relaxed too lol since I was like 6 and I've been natural since I was like 15 and I don't ever want to touch a relaxer again I love my natural hair :) and if u do decide to go natural there are plenty of natural hair videos here on YT u can watch to help u..they have definitely helped me and still are helping me..so good luck :)

Go for it! :) I'm 16 and I started transitioning about three years ago, for the same reasons that you wanted to. I figured my hair would be healthier if I just went natural (plus it was a traumatic experience every time my mom flat ironed my hair). Lol. I transitioned for nine months. That was the year where I started playing sports so I was transitioning during basketball, softball and track season. Taking care of natural hair while playing sports isn't nearly as hard as you think. I actually would just recommend not transitioning and just BC. The only time that I really contemplated getting a relaxer was when my curly roots grew out about two inches and I still had seven or so inches of relaxed ends. It was pretty overwhelming when it came to detangling and stuff with the two textures. Good luck though! :)

did you put your gel in one of those salad dressing containers? that's genius!

Thank you for sharing this technique. I thought the success of my wash and go's depended on product, but your video reminded me that it is also about technique! I modified some of the steps for my use as our curl pattern is the same, but my hair is fine and thick, so I gets PLENTY frizz. However, the cold shot of Aloe Vera and the process of adding oil before the final product to seal in moisture worked great for me. I saw the difference immediately and my hair clumped nicely. Thanks again, Kymberley

It is so funny how our "wash and GO", is certainly not a wash and go. It is a wash and still do ten+ (but slightly less time consuming things) and then go... -___- lol

Yvonne Taylor for fun, go shampoo your hair and then leave the house. Let me know how that works out for you

Sorry, so many grammatical errors, but I'm sure you understand.

No one said anything was wrong with our texture or strand shape. This is a HAIRSTYLE. Nothing more, nothing less.

Did I say it was not? I was simply pointing out the irony in calling this hair style a wash and go, when it is clearly not. You interpreted my comment as more.

I concede regarding the term wash and go. She did go, but like an hour and change later lol. Wash and define would be more accurate. I however, dislike the generalizing done in the previous comment regarding black women and hairstyle selection. I have worn a wash and define before. In fact, my first one was a few months ago after being natural a few years. I adore my hair, and loved the look, but my preference for my hair varies based on mood, occasion, and company. This is the narrative with a great many of us. Self hate is an issue, but not always the issue.

I am so happy to see you giving the Shea Moisture Deep Treatment Masque another try! How did you like it? I have been using it for months and it leaves my hair butter soft and detangled. I absolutely love it.

For the Brits watching, Shea Moisture is sold in Boots. If it takes off and sells, they will start to sell their makeup products.

This worked SO well on my hair! I was worried about the amount of gel, but I followed your method, and am loving my curl definition. I always rely on twists and braids, so it's nice to *finally* have a way to wear MY curls. Thank you!!
