Nice to see a Falcon 10, and 20 together and no GE engine on the 20. Great video.

I thought this was Mike Rasa. Recognized him from the HondaJet video that he & his wife did. It’s great to hear his background.

The part talking about the “rotating of ratings” wasn’t explained well. It’s called a 61.58 check or a PIC check. First, to act as PIC of an airplane that requires two pilots or is a jet then the pilot must complete recurrent type-rating training each year. Second, recurrent type-rating training is required every two years for the specific airplane type. So, if you have one type rating, you’ll have to do recurrent training every year in that type. But, if you have two type ratings then you can alternate the training each year between the types because each specific type rating is good for two years.

Our company jet was falcon 10. Sometimes we did 5 countries in a day. This back in the 1990s. Really fast. It did its job.i was just a passenger , and that falcon eventually was just a flying bus for us. Miss those days.

@@HangarTalkFS I remember once we took off from Lusaka flying to jhb. And the president of Namibia was in his lear, also fast, one minute after us and we arrived about 10 minutes ahead of him. Our pilots used to call it a pocket rocket.

Thanks captain! It's so interesting to know! I fly a piper m600 with a garmin g3000, and it's so easy and well made for the single pilot! By the way i have to be way in front of the aircraft with the decision making! But i don't feel that it's too fast anymore as it was at the beggining after 430 hours flown on it!

Very true! The G3000 is a great setup! It makes staying ahead of the plane so much easier!

I don't understand what is the meaning of "very fast jet" unless one of your type rating is in an F4 or F104? For close to 3/4 century, none of the civilian jets had broken the "sound barrier" The record setting fastest biz jet are only faster than the runner up by under 10 kts. Technical advances in speed , even for the military had come to a stop.

I think he was referring to the Falcon 10 which overall for corporate aircraft was very fast and still is considered fast when compared to a lot of corporate jets. This is a fast jet especially for someone who flies for fun and not professionally, but of course many military aircraft are faster. It is a bummer that most technical advancements in aviation have really slowed!

@@HangarTalkFS As fast as the Falcon is, it is still under Mach one, the long range do translate into speed point to point. Advancement in speed had stopped , not slowed. Falcons are not any faster than jets 3/4 century ago. But modern computer designs had improved manors at the coffin corner and minimized drag The military discovered other factors much more important than speed, such as stealth, especially for bombers. Which is basically a bomb truck, that is why the B52 still in service. Soon they will figure out, they can also use a cargo plane to drop bombs and launch cruise missiles at stand off distances.
