Yesterday I filmed this video and to say things didn't go to plan is an understatement. I'm not the greatest one for measurements but my head was not in the right place for this build. Frustrating is a mild description of what I was feeling.
I've uploaded this video as a reminder that everyone has a bad day and theres always lessons to be learnt. I was up most of the night trying to figure out how to rectify my new art journal and decided at 5am this morning just to start all over again, so I pulled the gel plates out and created new background papers. I'll be filming this afternoon to recreate this Art Journal hopefully with better results this time around.

Good morning dear Ceri, thank you for keeping it real. I always find it more beneficial to see the oops and then the fixes rather than just the finished product. It helps us learn, helps us grow as creators. Thank you so much for everything you do, all you share, I appreciate you. Take care, breathe, and have a blessed weekend 💙🙏

❤Thank you, Thank you, Thank you! For erasing the myth that everything that everyone does (as shown on most social channels) is perfect. Not! This is exactly what everyone, especially our younger peeps, needs to see. Someone with amazing talent that has an off day, recognizes it, owns it, dusts themselves off and gets back up to do it better. We are grateful you are you!🤗

Ceri, thank you soooo much for not discarding this video. I sometimes get frustrated when I cant seem to make a project that meets my vision of what it should be. To know that I am not alone in this and that even seasoned artists have these moments too helps to keep me going. I look forward to how you solve the problems you encountered in this make. So, Ceri, have a cup of coffee and a piece of chocolate to soothe your soul and know that all of us are with you! 😊

From the bottom of my heart, Thank you for showing me REAL. ❤

Hi Ceri. I think it looks fine. The folding of the pages would be the hardest part for me. In my humble opinion it looks great. I learned decades ago that I always aim for perfection and settle for mediocre...which works splendidly in the junk journal world. Always perfectly imperfect. Which is also why I'll leave this tricky stuff to people like you. 😁 Good job my arty friend. 👏👏👏 Hope you have a great day and let your perfectionism go. Big ((HUGS)) ❤

Thank you for sharing. Not quite sure how to. say this.... I enjoy watching you create. You can see the creative processes, ups and downs.... Hard to share what we feel are those imperfections. I sense that it is hard to content create, the time crunch. I am learning that when one feels frustrated or it is not going as planned, step away, hve some tea and a treat, then come back to it. . The covers look great! I think the blue inside looked good., like a typical inside book plate. Sorry it did not line up the way you wanted. You will creat over with paint or tape and no one will be the wiser. I also learned. I will now plan for 4 prints. That way I can cover the inside with the same print when I need forgiveness. I have also, never made a concertina, so was not aware it may angle. Thank you for sharing that. Looking forward to the next video and March. Happy crafting.

What a clever idea! And, your covers are gorgeous, Ceri! I too wonder why, with all your careful cutting, folding, and aligning of the pages, they all came out slanted. There must be a logical explanation. I'm going to do some experimenting and see if I can figure out what causes this and then seek a solution. Hi. Just by looking at it, I would say that the page going into the half-inch pocket needs to be just a tiny bit shorter (the thickness of the paper), as it doesn't reach the edge of the page. As a result, the pages keep shifting to one side. I would suggest scoring only half an inch for the pocket on each page, then gluing one page in the pocket and folding it flush with the edge of the paper you glued it to. Nevertheless, it’s a lovely journal. Especially the paper, which is really, really beautiful. ❤
