I just got this drum today. I love it. I have no musical knowledge our ability and I played with it for the longest time. It's addicting. I can't believe the sound and it's pretty loud which is awesome too because the size of its pretty small. I enjoyed watching you play just to get an idea of how somebody would hit the tongues.

Hi @PainterLady thank you for your kind words and congrats on getting this beautiful tongue drum! 😊 For me, the magic of the drum is in feeling the sounds and expressing my inner state in the moment. The vibrations are so powerful, and that's what makes these drums so special, especially in this size. 🎶✨ I’m so happy you’re enjoying it too! 🌟

@@soniclovejournal Thank you for your message. Yes I don't think you can help it appreciate the sound that comes from it. Definitely was a great investment in my well-being. Thank you for your channel and playing this drum for me to watch and enjoy

Where did you purchase yours? The website is saying to find a dealer but all I’ve checked do not have it

Hi @athenagoldapp8881 I got mine from the Meinl shop directly. They don't ship to my country, but I've enquired through email for a special order. I hope that's helpful! 😊

Nice. Do you also play it with your fingers?

Thanks! I prefer using the mallets because it has more resonant 🥁

Helli im still learning and im brand new. I noticed you play with the lower nota on too but ive had other people tell me to do the opposite. Im struggling to pull the calm out rather than the sad of this beautiful instrument. Any recommendations?

@michaelviccica1138 Hi! That's a great question. When I first started out, I took time to just play all the notes and really listen to how they sound, feel and get really familiar with them. After that, I'd pick two notes, and slowly mix, match and hear how they balance, complement or create dissonance when played together. It's all about listening, internalising and feeling the notes - then using them to express yourself. Keep going! You can do it!

I cant use my fingers with it. No real sound the mallets work amazingly well

I’ve tried using my fingers as well- and you're right, definitely more resonance with the mallets! 🥁🎶
