So many of them feel the same as part of the system, but Ethan Winters? A seemingly normal individual with no fighting experience, the only character with this quality yet he fights well and says memorable dialogue (even quotes that seem mundane and commonplace feel powerful when he says them), has left such a lasting impact. May the Legendary Ethan Winters Rest In Peace. In Life and In Death Glory to Ethan Winters.

@@idi-jq6cj damn man… I won’t lie, I really enjoyed it (probably just because I’ve been anticipating DLC for this game for wayyy too long) but I can absolutely see why you would think that. Cool mechanics and whatnot, but what is it worth if it doesn’t last more than a couple hours? Idk what’s worse, that the DLC only took me 3 hours or that my first playthrough of R3make was only an hour longer…
@idi-jq6cj2 жыл бұрын
@@rowleyryan9025 Here's a comment I left in another video that summarizes my take on the Shadows of Rose DLC: Shadows of Rose has to be the worst DLC for a Resident Evil game by far. I already knew going into this DLC that it was going to drop the ball, but man, just on the gameplay, story, and character aspects, this is appalling. Absolutely appalling. And this was a paid DLC for crying out loud. What a ripoff. -They introduced no new areas at all for this DLC -The beginning of the DLC is just an interactive cutscene that gets aggravating when Rose can't run and everything is so scripted; -There's only one enemy type pretty much (the Face-eater) and they can't even intelligently place these enemies in environments that complement their AI systems, so you're just using exploits or mindlessly running past them most of the time. Not to mention the Face-Eaters are just reskins of the Moroaica's. So uninspired and lazy. -So many of the enemy placements feel throwaway -They reuse the same objectives from the main experience (Collecting masks in Castle Dimetrescu & going through flashing light moments and getting a fuse) -Nothing that happens in Beneviento's area has an underlying, thematic element that makes you connect with Rose. What do Dr. Who Mia dolls and those dolls of Rose's bullies have anything to do with Rose? The demented baby from the main experience that was chasing Ethan had a psychological significance as Ethan was trying to save his daughter and the idea of a parent fearing that their child would lose their innocence so soon was represented by the demented baby. In that sense, connecting with Ethan was possible. -The Dr. Who weeping dolls trope is uninspired and uninteresting for these dolls. -The Executioner boss fight is just a reskin of Urias that has no exciting gameplay elements or any imagination. -The Purifying Crystal feels so much like a MacGuffin that's just introduced out of nowhere with no setup. I don't even understand how using the Purifying Crystal in the Realm of Consciousness even affects Rose's body in the real world. My MacGuffin theory is only further confirmed by Rose destroying the Crystal at the end, so it's like Occam's Razor. They could've written this DLC without the Purifying Crystal. Plus, if the cure for the E-Type Mutamycete was introduced in RE7, why didn't Rose just use that to remove her abilities, assuming her abilities were at birth? The only thing I can think of is that the only thing Rose had at birth was just the genetics for maintaining a high affinity for the mutamycete, so she didn't have E-Type Mutamycete or mutamycete from the Megamycete coursing through her and instead, Miranda just infected her with the mutamycete from the Megamycete once she was abducted, which is why Rose crystallized originally in Village. -Why would Chris allow Rose to attend public school when organizations like the Connections or other terrorist organizations are likely looking for her? Sherry Birkin’s life journey after Raccoon City makes more sense than with Rose. -Even though it's been 16 years since RE Village, somehow, Rose didn't undergo training or anything like that to better understand her abilities. -We get no understanding of what happened to the BSAA 16 years after RE Village, yet the Hound Wolf Squad is still around, apparently. -It's never explained how the Megamycete is still around. Rose doesn't even question its existence despite her knowledge of the mutamycete and Miranda. -Rose is not very compelling as a character and the times when she says incongruous quotes that don't fall in line with her knowledge of the Mold, it can be stupid. I mean that fake K at the start said that Rose knew about Miranda and the mutamycete/Megamycete, yet Rose can ask the dumbest questions. Not to mention at times, she says cheesy quotes out of the blue and its stuff like that that makes the ending where Rose is talking with Ethan, feel incongruous emotionally. There were times where I literally said, "This can't be the daughter of Ethan Winters." -Miranda saying she can adjust the consciousness of individuals and rethread them doesn't make any sense because how would that even work? It's not like consciousness is measureable like with a blood or urine sample. Not to mention her plan to resurrect Eva is confusing because why would a vessel even matter in the Realm of Consciousness and it felt like at times, Miranda wanted to affect the real world and not the Realm of Consciousness, which is puzzling? -Despite Miranda saying that individuals who have been exposed to the mutamycete for their entire lives are the only ones who can retain their mental faculties within the Megamycete, Ethan was only exposed for three years and he's somehow in the Megamycete. And the lords were infected by the Cadou (a parasite infected with the mutamycete) for decades as Heisenberg said in Village, yet they're not in the Megamycete. -How did Miranda create that fake version of Canine to affect the real world Rose from within the Realm of Consciousness? How did Miranda even know about Canine? How did she even understand his genetic data to recreate him perfectly in the real world as a hallucination? And how did no one else in the real world notice Rose talking with a hallucination? -Eveline being in this DLC doesn't make any sense. How could she possibly be in the Megamycete when the E-Type Mutamycete and the normal Mutamycete are different types of Mutamycete? Not to mention, Eveline formed her own fungal network from the E-Type Mutamycete in America, yet somehow, she can connect to the Megamycete's network which is in Europe. Eveline was never absorbed into the Megamycete. In fact, in Resident Evil 7, when you kill Marguerite, she doesn't appear in the hive mind, so theoretically, if you die in the real world, your consciousness should not be present in the Realm of Consciousness, yet Eveline was different for whatever reason. There's also the part with her interfering with Miranda is some sort of way. Did she interfere with Miranda trying to turn Rose into Eva 16 years ago? Did she interfere with the process of making Rose clones? Why does Eveline never mention Miranda? I mean, Eveline is such a negligible plot element. You remove her, nothing changes in the DLC. The developers didn't even try to make Eveline have a lasting impact in the plot. We just suppress her, and she's gone, not even appearing in the final encounter. What a pointless element to the story. -If Miranda views Eveline as inferior, why would she call Rose Eveline's successor and then say that Rose is Eveline in the main experience. Miranda clearly views Rose as special, but to compare her to Eveline or even call Rose, Eveline, doesn't make any sense. -For some reason, at the end of the DLC, when Rose returns to the real world, she has the wedding ring Ethan had on her finger. She never had it on in the beginning of the DLC. What am I supposed to take from this? That it transferred from the Realm of Consciousness to here? How does that make any sense? You ask me, the developers forgot to include the wedding ring in the beginning cutscene, since these developers didn't have much common sense when designing most of Village and all of this DLC. Not to mention that other people have for some reason tried to use this transference process to say that Ethan is the mysterious figure in the distance at the end of the final cutscene and that the developer's made it like that to give Ethan a happy ending, which is such a dense comment. For one thing, Ethan is dead because he reached his Hayflick Limit (a concept established in the End of Zoe DLC) and he was crystallizing at the end of Resident Evil Village. He even tells Chris that him and Miranda finished each other off, so Ethan knew he was on his last legs. The Duke even says that Ethan's body is falling apart before Ethan goes to fight Miranda. So it makes no sense for him to be alive. Also, how can anyone think that being a mysterious figure in the distance is somehow a happy ending? Would you like it if your favorite character was in the distance unable to be recognized? Were those other people seriously thinking that mysterious figure was Ethan before PC mods and bugs in Photo Mode allowed people to see who that mysterious figure was? I've never heard of anything so ridiculous in all my life. Like I love Ethan Winters, but I'd much rather have him being alive make sense and not violate the lore established in RE7. And the last point on this is that it makes no sense having him be brought back to life because the developers literally said "The father's story is done" and they also said this would be the last time they would focus on the Winters' family, so even if Ethan's now amassed a greater following, the developers have no reason to bring him back. -Mia doesn't even appear in this DLC. Someone who is a crucial part to Ethan's character, doesn't appear at all. Most likely, the developers couldn't get Katie O'Hagan to do the role again, so they cut Mia out of this DLC. -We have a badly designed character in Rose; we have no appearance of Mia; and we have a character who for some reason, people think is alive in the end but is just a mysterious figure in the distance who has no chance of returning. Not to mention, him being absorbed into the Megamycete doesn't make sense, nor does he have enough exposure to the Mutamycete to even retain his mental faculties, yet he does. They screwed the Winters' family hard with this DLC. How insulting and offensive. They rushed this DLC to a fiery end because too many fans wanted them out of the way. And I get that the developers started this DLC directly after Resident Evil Village was finished, so they only had less than a year to develop this DLC, but I have played incredible games that were only developed for 10 months for instance. There is no excuse for this incompetence on the developer's part.

Except Chris’ encounters with the E-Type Mutamycete BOWs would’ve informed him that it takes more than 5 shots to the head to deal with them. Furthermore, he should’ve been aware that permanent death of individuals infected with the Mutamycete results in biocrystallization.

It’s great to find other Ethan Winters fans. He’s my favorite character in all of Resident Evil. You ask me, after going through RE7 and RE Village, he’s put himself right above the other character’s through the two times he’s fought BOWs.
