I love all your makes but especially the pogonip and the embroidered jumper you’re wearing. I’ll be stealing that idea when I’ve learnt a bit of embroidery. Thank you.

I am curious about the coat you made, which is very impressive and well done. What kind of fabric did you use for the outer layer of the coat? Also, how do you size the coat especially when adding a thicker lining? I want to make my own coats with thicker linings for the cold weather. Thank you.

Thank you so much for your comment, that is very kind of you to say. The outer layer of the coat is a pre quilted 'Mind the Maker' polyester fabric. I made a size 3 in this coat that was based on my body measurements but the finished garment measurements were bigger than my actual size. It is a bit big but that is good because I can fit layers underneath it. I would always say to check the finished garment measurements of a coat and then make sure you have enough room and to be double sure to make a toile. I hope this helps.

@@ameliaellensews Thank you. I have thought to take some measurements on existing ready to wear coats that I have. (One got too close to an outdoor heater and melted a hole at the bottom! I have made a “design element” by covering the bottom of this coat with another fabric 😊) I do want to make sure I can wear heavier tops under the coats that I make, and I also want some water resistance with the type of fabric you used. I am inspired by your makes.
