So here it is! Part 1 of my 3 day tour through Devon and Dartmoor, and an overview of all the mods I'd done to the bike at this point.
In this part I travel north from my home in Portsmouth, up through Cheddar Gorge, to Lynton where I spend the first night in a small bothy.
Follow me through the British countryside, which starts off in the beautiful sunshine and ends up with 60mph winds blowing!
This is my first ever Vlog, so please leave me your feedback, good or bad, and I'll try to take it all on board for my future videos!
I hope you enjoy it. Stay tuned for Part 2 (which is a lot more scenic!).

Nice vids! I rode my Xsr from Hamburg down to Naples and east to Danzig. Although my ass kind of hurt after one hour, it was much fun! Be careful if you ever come to Germany with these levers, they’re not legal here.

Great video. What jacket you wearing on the bike? Any reason to not choose the 900? Was in the market for the old XJR1300 but soooo close to plumping for one of these! 😍

Thanks a lot! I'm wearing a Furygen Mistral Evo Mesh jacket. (it's actually up for sale if you're from the UK and fit a medium 😉 haha). I'm not all about power, so that's always a funny question to me, and the answer is I MUCH prefer the looks of the 700 and the character of the parallel twin engine. It's lighter, and I'm only 5'7" so it all works for me 👍 I do love the XJRs, beautiful bikes!

BallaMOTO Thanks! I’m more an XL 😂 I’m not about power either and my first ‘big’ bike was a Kawasaki ER-6F, but when I wanted to do a long-weekend tour, felt it was a little under-powered, so swapped for a (pre-VTEC) VFR800. Great bike, but sold it, moved house and now time to get back into it ready for this summer. I was dead-set on the XJR, but I think the pendulum has swung in favour of the XSR now (partly thanks to your uploads). There a very similar one for sale that’s tempting me!

@@LukeTPZ ahh fair enough! 😂 Still a great jacket for the summer, worth looking at. I've now got the Knox Urbane Pro which I can wear under any jacket or with no jacket at all, so it's really useful. Yeah I think either xsr would be a good choice, possibly the 900 could be better for loading up with gear for a long tour 🤔 and they're so easy to modify to make your own, lots of aftermarket parts available! And they're pretty cheap to begin with. Glad my video could help you out! If you're interested in any other inspiration for it (I've changed a lot since this Vlog), head to www.BallaMOTO.com for the latest!

Nice vid mate! Wee question ...... im looking for a set of saddlebags for my XSR700 but am not sure which ones will fit as I’ve installed the Evotech tail tidy and this brings the indicator stalks closer to the read of the bike, limiting the space available for saddlebags. If im not mistaken you also have a tail tidy..... which saddlebags do you have?
@ballamoto
@ballamoto 4 жыл бұрын
Hello mate, good question, not sure if you're aware but the evotech tail tidy has two different positions for the indicators. I also have the same one. I chose to fit them nearer to the indicators so I could use saddle bags. I use the Givi MT501 👍

Engine-wise, yes. I've never really understood the need for a 1000+ for a long trip? Just so the revs are a couple of thousand less maybe? This sits at 80mph very happily, and on a naked bike, you won't be going that speed the whole time that's for sure! 😁 The tank size is a let down, probably about 100 or so miles. Comfort wise, I can do a few hours comfortably without a break. I just did a ride to Limoges in France over 3 days and it was great!
@lennonreynolds6580

BallaMOTO Yeah true, I was just always spoilt with the option of always having a bigger bike but like you say it’s not really necessary, especially with the new tech in engines now anyway. Wow sounds like a good trip, I’m in Wiltshire so rude mostly from there then down the coast and stay wherever and continue on the next day. Thanks for your reply ..... I actually bought the xsr700 today .... can’t wait to ride!!
