I just bought a single speed kit on eBay it came with plenty spacers

Few months ago I had transformed my 1985 Ganna Pioneer MTB into a single speed beast, repainted "all black", it has cantilever brakes, no suspensions at all, 26x1.95 tyres and a city handlebar, riding it is a pure joy ! (from a 62 yo rider)

Hi 38t chainring and 16t cog will fit, no need tensioner. Chain will fit just fine and the bike looks more nice. Or you can use 32t chainring and 13t cog also fit just fine. Just a tip.

Now you're having real fun! kudos to you :) welcome aboard the Single Speed club! BTW, you can actually bypass using a tensioner...if you're using 32-16 gears, by using 91 links on your chain, there will be no need for chain tensioner :)
