In V4.0, Mega Gallade has been buffed! He now learns Aqua Cutter and Blademaster's name got changed to Sharpness. On top of that, Sharpness boosts Blade and Cutting by 50%, instead of Blademaster's 20% and higher crit chance. Gallade can now get even more reliable OHKOs!

Just finished my own Radical Red hardcore mode nuzlocke; In addition to the mons you mentioned, I found alot of success with the following: Rapidash for flash fire, Infernape and floatzel for quickly killing hazard setters, Physical Raichu with fake out, and Zippy zap for priority kills, dracovish because it sweeps many fights, golisopod for the priority one shot on alot of otherwise tough mons (ultra necrozma for example) and lastly, hisuian goodra for its immense special bulk, coverage, and access to wish.

I'm 2 months late, but if you like Priority Raichu, you'll find Galvanize Minun fun too. Galvanize E-Speed is very slightly stronger than Zippy Zap's crit but they're functionally the same even off of Raichu's base 100 atk. Minun basically is the same with the major difference being a boosted Elec Fake Out which can do anywhere from 1/3 to 45% on a super effective hit. Minun also gets Double Edge which turns into essentially Volt Tackle (M.O.A.B. on elec weak mons lol) assuming you outspeed which is likely to be similar conditions since Minun's base speed is tied with Rai with 110 in RR. Rai can still take better hits and has Play Rough coverage, but i like extreme prejudice elec turbo fuck mouse a lil more. (P.S. It even has Knock Off)

Technician floatzel is kinda busted with surging strikes. Rapides with blazing soul is great too- making fire moves priority at full hp. Sevii Milotic is cool as hell too. Ground/fairy typing, shore up is basically recover. Flareon got a FAT buff with much better stats and toxic boost which makes you immune to poison damage and boosts attack 50% when poisoned. Slap a toxic orb on and you've got a very heavy hitter

This was a great video despite already knowing how great all the mons featured in this are. No surprises basically, but still sweet. Primarina specifically was an eye-opener when you showed off how it embarrasses Agatha and Lance. I'd add that it kind of messes with Bruno while holding the Wacan Berry. Specifically Zamazenta goes for setup, Zacian just goes for the kill obviously. Necrozma and Lucario also set up on it. I'll throw out some names. H-Avalugg - STAB priority with Technician, high physical bulk, great offensive typing. Sneasler/Weavile - Fast boys with great STAB, Sneasler has better coverage with Earthquake, Rock Slide, and Stone Edge. Pangoro - Iron Fist with STAB moves boosted by it. Bulky as well. Also, it gets Hammer Arm immediately after evolving, so it's really nice for the Surge split. Many of the Sevii mons are great. Mega S-Centiskorch and S-Milotic are the best of the lot. I also enjoyed using S-Ursaring. Focus Sash Salazzle - Great against the E4, another Encore user. Frosmoth - Beast in the early game. Does well in the late-game. Scarfed Bull Rush Emboar/H-Decidueye - Nukes certain E4 threats. Ursaluna - Bulky as fuck and extremely powerful with active Guts. Give it a Chople Berry for Bruno and it can OHKO Zacian with Headlong Rush, taking +1 Behemoth Bash. Copycat users - Very niche, but it's hilarious to copy hazard moves from the AI. G-Darmanitan-Zen - That one's obvious. Zippy Zap users - The Pikachus, Morpeko, and Togedemaru to be more specific. Niche and fun. Morpeko's Aura Wheel still boosts Speed in HC Mode. Togedemaru has Sturdy and Encore, so the AI will be greedy and set up, then get Encored. Conkeldurr - Mentioned already, but to be more specific, the bulk and Iron Fist with Drain Punch makes it last long. It can even stick around a bit against Bruno's dogs, though you need really good damage rolls.

There’s also Maractus: if I recall correctly from my playthrough of Radical Red Hardcore mode last year. Maractus when holding leftovers, combined with the self-sufficient ability and Sappy Seed, is able to passively heal up to nearly 1/4th of its max HP every turn, and thanks to spiky sheld as long as it can survive 1 hit Maractus can live a pretty long time.

One really good Mon is Mudkip, I played on regular mode but whether you choose as your starter or get the one in Saffron City, very helpful with most of the gym battles (Kanto & Johto), boss battles, rivals, evil teams, postgame etc. When I battled the Elite Four I used Blaziken, Skarmory with spikes and (or) stealth rock/roost for Loreli's ice team (Even through Sunny Day on Blaziken to get rid of the hail), I used Overqwil with either a water type move or ice type move, along with either Toxic Spikes or Destiny Bond, that way if Overqwil gets knocked off, my opponent would get knocked out giving me the last laugh. Mimikyu was helpful too. I rotated with Drain Punch, Giga Drain, and Thunderbolt. Girafarig was helpful too, especially with Agatha. I can't wait for Gen 9 PokeMon to make it into Radical Red (Yes I am aware it's gonna be quite awhile. But some of the new PokeMon (Scovillain with Grass/Fire), Pawmot (Electric/Fighting), and Annihilape (Ghost/Fighting), will really help out. I know Radical Red made Sunflora Grass/Fire, Electivire Electric/Fighting, and Seviian Ursaring Ghost/Fighting, but they're not the same

Bellibolt is a great alternative to lanturn as a bulky electric with parabolic charge, plus his ability gives him a charge whenever he gets hit so be does some pretty big counter hits with it. It's downside is it has a really bad movepool But it does learn slack off and with parabolic, slack off and thunder wave you're usually covered Fore cleavor is also a hidden gem. With focus sash you can always do a stone axe / accelerock combo on near any Pokémon and set up rocks And it's base speed is decent enough where it outspeeds a solid amount of pokemon

My crobat has been putting in the work... Leech life and u-turn poison fang and pluck slaps hard pluck is almost a healing move cause most bosses have healing berries on multiple pokemon. 2 honorable mentions I have are bayleaf/meganium and skiddo/gogoat. These 2 get a very simalar load out and make Brock and misty alot easier to work around. Leech life and or poison and synthesis are a good combo then with mega drain or razorleaf you can put in alot of good work.

Avalugg is good. He basically swept the ice guy after Koga for me, and I used him in many other battles. His weaknesses are glaring but so is his def stat, if they cant hit him with super effective special attacks he just doesn't die. In general using the weather mons yourself is the best answer to weather abuse My MVP though was Melmetal. After you get him he doesn't immediately learn double iron bash, but once he does, my god he is strong. His coverage is amazing so he will always trade 1 for 1, most of the time more like 3 for 1, so bringing him just makes every fight a breeze. Like check this out: 252+ Atk Choice Band Iron Fist Melmetal Double Iron Bash (2 hits) vs. 0 HP / 4 Def Multiscale Dragonite: 324-382 (100.3 - 118.2%) -- guaranteed OHKO And it lives any one hit no problem, even a super effective EQ from +1 Dragonite (only does 70% lol) +1 252+ Atk Dragonite Earthquake vs. 32 HP / 0 Def Melmetal: 270-318 (64.4 - 75.8%) -- guaranteed 2HKO Another one I liked was BruteBonnet. Change ability according to fight, and it will always pull insane weight

I´ve been playing Radical Red on and off for a few months. RN I´m on the way to the Victory Road, and as you said, recovery moves (Mienshao with Drain Punch is Amazing), really add to the mons in your team. I sugggest that you use an extra step: Recovery moves ON bulky mons with ATTRACT , since most of the trainers mons are males. Milotic (bouncy bubble) and Alcremie (drain kiss) (both can also use recover but I find it a bit overkill) are standouts in this category in my opinion (milotic being slighly better to me because of Dragon Coverage). My Milotic helped with Koga and creamed Blair and Clair´s non-Legendaries, all while finishing with 75% HP all the fights

Focus Sash Bisharp was always a staple for me in the game's second half. Metal Burst made it a blanket check to almost everything, while its Sucker Punch was one of the strongest in the game. Now Kingambit exists, making it even better. Other staples include Galvanize Minun (Electric type Fake Out and E-speed. Also Encore.); Intimidate Hitmontop for the role-compression (intim, spin, fakeout, cc, suckerpunch); Technician Donphan (both as anti-lead spinner and to kill things with Ice Shard); Darmanitan-G (just to brute force things); and Marowak-A with Lightningrod (a unique set of 3 immunities and 7 resistances that lets it counter Koga's Toxtricity, every Magearna and a lot more).

Misty hc rematch Jugulis and M-Gyarados learned the hard way lmao. RR buffing Minun's base attack to 85 and speed to 110 plus Galvanize and access to Fake out and E-Speed is so cracked. Double Edge is for anything you naturally outspeed as a one button nuke. If its a Flier that isnt Lando, its Extinct. Fake Out does half lmao. Waters better be a Lanturn or half Ground. You can change the form in prof. Oak's lab. There's a machine that will enable the Rotom forms to be changed. Rotom does need to be in front of your party and following Pokemon needs to be activated though.

@Genoci

Just play Normal mode with minimal grinding activated. There's no need to worry about EVs and IVs with minimal grinding turned on. You can choose your preferred playstyle at the start of the game.

Wow, access to all bite moves and Sucker Punch before the 2nd gym? I wish I knew earlier. Though, Boltund does seem superior when it becomes available after Mt. Moon.

On sceptile I believe that dual Chop is a better move than breaking swipe
@Genoci
@Genoci 9 ай бұрын
Dual Chop is better, but if it doesn't OHKO a target, then Breaking Swipe can be useful because it lowers the Attack, reducing the damage taken from a physical move.
