All the pats, cookies, and scratches for Wy! He did so good! He's so smart. I wonder if he'll like dressage too to work his little brain in a different way.

First XC school? He did all that like it was nothing new. I mean he's a mustang. This is all manicured landscape with maintained footing. He has a truly experienced rider on board. That was all good. Super positive experience for Wy, who is making it look easy. Oh, cute!!! 7:57 Plenty o' cuteness!

Loved him that first time you worked him in the round pen. He is just so handy and those ears are back and he's cruising over those logs and ditches like the little champion he will be. Any horse would be lucky to be trained by you. 😉

Hey Elisa, I just want to say thank you for never shying away from the difficulties of horses training. My horse got stressed at a new barn and reared recently with another rider. She had never done anything like that before, and it was really disheartening. But to hear that Wy still occasionally gets stressed and misbehaves at 50 rides makes me feel so much better. It's good to see other people struggling and still coming out on top (literally 🤣) it reminds me to just keep moving past the rough patches, keep working hard, and we'll get there eventually.

He has a lovely natural roundness to his jumps. He looks to be a great prospect for eventing. I think he would also make a good distance horse. He has what appears to be ground eating trot. Daydreaming on a rainy Sunday. Eton??.

Thanks for the video update. Great to see the horses back out on course and Majestic Oaks is a beautiful venue with super hosts. Just got back from watching schooling at Stable View and everyone did a good job knocking the rust off after the lay-up. Looking forward to seeing Wy at an event down the road.

I love seeing Wy doing so well. Wow, first time cross-country -- Wy's a great student with a great teacher. Extrapolating from your comments that the mustangs usually do well with Xcountry elements is probably because they already encountered things like ditches, banks, rivers/water in the wild and so aren't usually surprised by them. Something I'd never thought about before, but makes good sense when you point it out. Thanks so much for including these videos with the mustangs; they are my favorites. Always nice to see Wyn too -- mustang see mustang do -- you are such an amazing equestrienne.

do you know wy’s breeding/bloodlines? he’s so gorgeous! i am a true fan of the mustangs, i have a spanish mustang named lakota, born from adena x gunrunner - she was the first full mustang to be bred in Europe! they are trustworthy horses, and when they find their person they’ll do anything. i really do love the mustangs 😊

Not a jumper but really enjoying your videos. However I was wondering why you open your hands wide as you said?is it to give him more room or give him less of a chance to stop/turn away?
@virginiam92934 жыл бұрын
Kinda both, it just makes him feel confident enough to stay in the middle of the jump

Thanks for explaining/confirming. I'm actually pretty proud of myself I kinda figured it out. Because as I said I have never done any jumping so sometimes I'm just like okay... but why though?

She actually mentioned in her 2016 Kentucky Five Star video (around the 3:40ish mark) that she keeps her hands wide to help the horse know where to go.
@meaghank.79834 жыл бұрын
I've always been taught that you want to form a tunnel through your legs and your hands, and widening them can make things clearer for a green or spooky horse, and make it harder for them to run out.
@JustHorseyMie4 жыл бұрын
Looking at your videos, I wish I could buy a mustang from you as my next horse. Sadly I live in north Europe, and I think the travelling would be unfair to the horse.
@JustHorseyMie4 жыл бұрын
@@kadinaator I wouldn't know. I jusy don't think it's fair to the horse's psyche to send it that far when it is not used to travelling and has been living in wide open spaces. Then being "caged" in a tiny travel box for so long. It's different if the horse has travelled a lot and is used to it. But I don't think I would put it through that. Also, it would be insanely expensive, and since I'm not getting a horse to compete at a high level it is more sensible to find something close. But it would be a dream to get a horse from Eliza.
