I saw on her mother's Instagram that she posted about Cleo being completely potty trained before her abduction, and didn't need diapers at night anymore. Knowing this guy was buying diapers really makes me wonder what that poor girl went through. I'm just glad she's safe with her family, since as you said, occurrences such as this are really rare. One less child related tragedy.

Just FYI, the police absolutely do NOT pay for the door, or for any damages done to your property while investigating a case. In fact, there’s a semi-recent story also out of australia of a family whose entire house was demolished by the swat team, who MISTAKENLY invaded the wrong house, and the police are not liable to pay for damages, so they aren’t. Doesn’t matter if they’re at the right home or not. If damage was done to your property or vehicle while conducting a criminal investigation, they have quantified immunity. They aren’t reimbursing you for anything.

Since I grew up in Houston, I have always been one to be aware of my surroundings, it’s natural for me. Yes, I watch where I park, at night I will park directly under the lamp in the lot, I keep my doors locked at all times, including my house. We all just need to be aware of our surroundings, that’s all. No matter how many actions we take to protect ourselves, bad things can still happen.
@sassykat2587
@sassykat2587 3 жыл бұрын
I agree, it's good advice no matter the age too. Like he said, it's not paranoia to be aware. At times it's surprising how much you can notice just by being observant. For an example I tend to see parents just leave their kids trailing behind while coming out of a store/etc., these kids are toddler age and up... I mean, yes you can't guarantee to be mindful 24/7 and things can go wrong quickly regardless, but if something bad were to happen (not saying it should, just saying if) they will be worried sick. I would hope, anyway. It's not always about being distracted by phones either, and maybe it's where I live, but a lot of people just aren't that aware in general.

@@donnakawana Sorry I disagree. Is it better to let her be and let her brain reset, and deal with this on her own terms. Or will constantly bringing up the past (with a counselor/ and or her family) in the long run cause more damage? Off topic I too have endured many traumas in my life and I sympathize with you my friend.

I got bone conduction headphones specifically because I didn't want any noise cancellation, for when I'm skating or riding my bike. I love them so much they're now my everyday headphones. Good sound quality and can still always be aware of my surroundings. Also way less risk of hearing damage, might be a good idea for kids

Officers used to not consider a young persons missing case as a missing case, but as a runaway, and they would wait 24 hours before actually calling it a missing person. This used to happen a lot in urban communities and with teenagers, globally. Thankfully that’s not as prevalent anymore. Great video! I’m a huge fan ♥️

“Don’t live in paranoia, just be alert and aware and in the moment.” Man I really needed to hear that.. I’ve been watching a ton of true crime and horrific disaster videos, plus I’ve been on new medication that makes my anxiety worse (and it was already kinda bad) so I’ve been a bit paranoid these past weeks. I’m so glad Cleo was found safe and well. I’m glad you can continue to post a lot more stuff now!! Really looking forward to it.

These stories always make me nervous about my own children. Being on the spectrum, neither really have a firm grip on stranger danger. I love your suggestion about parking where you can get out easy. I always park next to the cart corral and either back in or pull thru so I don't have to back out. Usually that means I have to park quite a ways away from the door but I'd rather walk further than risk leaving my child unattended for even a few seconds.

I agree with the whole Awake, Alert, and Aware. I knew someone who went to a resort with her kids and instead of being Awake, Alert, and Aware about her kids, she focused on fixing the food on the table that her 5 year old drowned 30 feet away from her. Now she's living with regret. I'm always alert when I see toddlers running around at the mall while their parents not giving a shit. Although I seem like a creep by watching strange kids, I want to make sure they're not picked up by a random person.
