I believe the rat race is a self-imposed illusion, a relentless cycle invented by humans to (a) feel superior to any other being and its own, (b) to chase wealth, status, and material possessions, often at the cost of what truly matters. This artificial pursuit convinces us that success and happiness lies in endless consumption and competition, blinding us to its devastating consequences. The Earth's resources are plundered, ecosystems collapse, and humanity itself becomes fractured, overworked, and disconnected from purpose. Yet, the real tragedy is that this race serves no higher goal-it only enslaves us in a loop of stress and dissatisfaction, a never-ending suffering and hurting one another. Breaking free from this illusion is not just an act of liberation; it’s a necessity for the survival of our planet and the well-being of our souls.

I've never in my life met so many people who suffer from allergies. Allergies were unheard of when I was growing up.We have sanitized ourselves nearly to death. All these anti-microbial, antibiotic and antibacterial soaps, lotions, sprays, etc. have killed off all the good bacteria that lives in and on our skin naturally. I remember sitting in mud puddles making mud pies with my little toy dishes. My mom didn't freak out. She knew that all she had to do when I was done playing was to strip off the mud caked clothes and throw them in the wash and stick me in the bath tub. No big deal. Parents now are so afraid to let kids explore in the natural environment and get a little dirty. A little water and maybe a little bit of soap are all that's necessary to keep anyone clean. Everyone now days are so terrified of a speck or dirt or a germ. Thank you for this video. Blessings to you Robin.

Yes my mother in law vacuums outside the front door and stones at the front porch. She doesn’t even want dirt outside! And she freaks out if my kids play outside, she won’t let them inside until they take off their clothes and run to scrub their hands. Even if they just picked a flower outside she’s afraid of the “dirt”. It’s sad how disconnected many people are.

I agree that being exposed to dirt and dust can be beneficial. I heard a story from a friend who suffered from skin rashes and allergies since childhood. She became a stewardess, and after enduring conditions where she breathed in dust and dirt during cleanups, her allergies and rashes went away.

I know I'm not the only one, but I have not run across anyone else who doesn't get poison ivy. Someone told me years ago it's probably because I was always playing outside barefoot as a child & was exposed to it enough that I built up an immunity to it. I'm not the norm though.. I refuse to get flu shots of Covid vaccines, I refuse to use that free antibacterial gel (during these times) yet I don't get the flu. Many don't believe me that I don't get sick, but I also eat very healthy (no meat) lots of nuts/seeds for protein. I'm 58 & feel better than I did in my 20s.

Instead of soap on your hands you can use ashes. That’s all just put some ash from your used up fire in a container and when you want to wash just take a scoop and use water and wash your hands. It will clean very well, do it quickly so it doesn’t stain your hands. It will dry your hands because it’s an intense cleaner, so use an oil after. Toothbrush you can use a hazel branch and chew the end to get that fluffy bit out and it’s a medieval era sustainable toothbrush without plastic. I don’t know if it will get too annoying to use but it worked for thousands of years for our ancestors! So cool to see your natural journey. We need to connect with our natural environment.

In India, our ancestors used purified mud mixed with turmeric powder as a body cleanser. There's a herb called 'Shikakai' that naturally foams and cleans, that was used as shampoo. Later bar soap from soda ash was introduced by the British. Now its deep engrained in psychology that we have to use a harsh alkaline soap everyday on our body, hair, clothes etc.

Thank you for sharing this! I'm very similar to you about my personal hygiene. When I was around 22 I had a really bad ear infection. Later, when I became an aromatherapist, I found that a drop of lavender and eucalyptus radiata on a little bit of cotton placed near the earhole for even a few minutes...or longer if it doesn't sting, can keep the ears free from infection. A drop of lavender, tea tree and eucalyptus is great if I feel the onset of a flu or cold. I found I can even just put the drops directly onto the collar of my shirt so that the smell wafts up into my nose. I also have found that a few drops of helichrysum italicum and frankincense in a couple teaspoons of coconut oil and arnica is super for sprains and muscle aches.

Hey, can you all share the natural-non-factory-made products you use. By sharing, we can learn more. Here is my list: Toothpaste: activated charcoal and sometimes I add a drop of tea tree oil. Shampoo/body wash: soapnuts liquid. Laundry/kitchen detergent: soapnuts liquid with eucalyptus oil. Hair conditioner: organic apple cider vinegar diluted in water. Moisturizer: aloe vera gel fresh from the plant. As a woman I never shave nor wear bra/high heels. If a man needs a woman doing all that crap, probably he is not a real man, just a shadow. Using perfume/deodorant/etc on ourselves is as ridiculous as it would be if a farmer sprayed perfume on his cows so that they don't smell of cow 😂 Good on you Robin, I hope someday I have the opportunity to give a long lasting hug. My deodorant is all natural from a company called Booda Organics it's just baking soda, Shea butter, coconut oil and a few other natural ingredients. I use patchouli oil as a natural perfume. I do shave as a woman but very sparingly and I mostly just trim my body hair now to make it easier to manage.

Robin, I love that you share your story and your way of living and everything you talk about makes total sense... I also love that you are non-judgemental to those who don't follow your lifestyle exactly. I love taking what you have to say and integrating what I can when I can in my path in life as it is now. and I love hearing your journey and know that everything you say is the truth but again you accept everyone's path and share your wonderful and amazingly earthly, natural way of living to give support and knowledge to others. Even though not everyone will go to the "extreme" ( please forgive the wording for lack of a better word) but to most people living on this earth ( at least in the most populated " modern" places) we will only live the way you are if we absolutely have to and what I find fascinating is that we actually may have to at some point to some degree live more how you are now. I have been preparing ...not out of fear but out of......wanting to know that I can take care of myself with out the luxuries of living on the grid. I have been going about it a little differently because I have 27 animals on my little 3 acre farm but I have been building my camping gear so that if for some reason like in 2000 the "lights" (electricity) went out in North America for almost 24 hours I would be able to take care of myself and my animals in any weather. I live in Canada so in mid winter there is not the luxury of living without heat for long periods of time so taking that into consideration I have invested in wood burning stoves and kerosene heaters in case we are without heat for any amount of time. In short.... thank you for showing us that living with little is possible and learning as much as we can to live simply is so important in so many ways. I could go on but what I am trying to say is that I appreciate you and I know you are living your truth and all paths are a blessing. We a;ll came to this earth with a purpose big or small and they are all equal in meaning. Big love to you and I am excited to watch your journey as it has brought me much joy! PS I have been using natural resources for health for myself and my animals for many many years and I have so many people and friends than contact me when they have sick animals and I give my advice to them and more often than not can help those animals and I am so so grateful for that knowledge that I have acquired through research and our interest in wanting to use natural remedies. What is beautiful is that I have so many natural plants on my little farm that grow naturally that I have been able to use ... I have a lot more to learn and that's one reason I watch you. I fist saw you on a tiny house episode years ago and then your channel popped up in my feed and it showed a clip of that tiny house episode and I was hooked, All the best to you Robin!

Hey Robin, another great video! I wanted to let you know that I've just sourced myself one of those used off road baby buggies/strollers like you've got, after I saw a video of you walking with it! I feel inspired and want to go for walkies. My motivations are slightly different yet similar. I don't drive, 54yr old woman in the UK, don't have any big savings to treat myself to holidays abroad so I thought, Ill just walk, lol. Also, I suffer from a very high EMF sensitivity and using my phone and laptop has been crippling me, its also something I get stuck to when indoors esp in the winter, so its driven me to seek some affordable ways to get out. I'm going to start practicing doing local hikes (which I already do in my local hills called Dartmoor, with a backpack only), then maybe get more brave and adventurous. I'm hoping to financially sustain myself on the walk by offering simple gardening services as I have retrained as a qualified gardener in the last couple of years. Of course I wont be carrying much equipment on my trolley, hence simple services but everyone needs their garden weeded for a start, plants pruned by a specialist, and a few other bits that no big tools are needed. Ill just have to figure out where to go and whether I could feel safe as a lone woman doing such a thing. But you have inspired me hugely, even if I end up only doing what you do, in some small and temporary version. Many blessings to you and continue having a wonderful walk 🌺

We will see how very important it is to bring about, in the human mind, the radical revolution. The crisis is a crisis in consciousness-- a crisis that cannot, anymore, accept the old norms, the old patterns, the ancient traditions. And considering what the world is now, with all the misery, conflict, destructive brutality, aggression, and so on Man is still as he was; is still brutal, violent, aggressive, acquisitive, competitive. And, hes built a society along these lines.

Tipp to get rid of earwax naturally: hopi candles! And think of washing your ear plugs each morning with a little bit of soap, (and use an other set, very dry, the next evening). Doing so I have no more problems of infection.

Love and agree with all of this! This is almost my life exactly but costal suburbia. I have never needed or used deodorant. Coconut oil has so many using and anti microbial and anti bacterial so good for armpits, body and hair moisturiser. I believe a clean whole food diet without pharmaceuticals makes so the difference. The ear infections concern me. Do you use or have you tried the beeswax earplugs Robin? I couldn’t weird see your one’s but the foam synthetic ones wouldn’t be good long term. Perhaps a little coconut oil in the ear cavity may keep at bay any microbes from the river water. Love your lifestyle! Best wishes from Australia 🧡

That's cool that you use Auromere toothpaste! I know about them and have even volunteered in their warehouse, lol. They're associated with a spiritual path known as Integral Yoga. You should look into it, if you're interested (Sri Aurobindo and the Mother are the spiritual teachers associated with it).

Personally I got tired of people standing too close to me at the checkout stand. I take less showers and the problem went away.

I would advise against using wet sand as scrub on your face as it is quite coarse and the skin on the face is fragile. For the rest: great tips!
