Don't be girl! Honestly keep you head up, count your meals each day and remember its temporary. 2 months of boot camp is nada compared to 4 years (or more) of security in a paycheck, a place to live and food to eat. Make the best out of everything and try and be positive though at times it seems very hard to do. Best of luck!

How long does it take to be shipped out after MEPS?
@molinita31314 жыл бұрын
Every navy contract is different. So depending on what you sign for you can ship out a week after you're first visit to MEPS (where you'll sign your initial contract with your ship date on it) or up to months away. I enlisted July 31st, 2017 and Shipped out to boot camp on Feb 28th 2018. Others I know left within 2 weeks of enlisting and going to boot camp. So depending on the job you sign for and what the needs of the navy are for that job will determine when you'd leave.

do they give you a backpack or can you bring your own?
@molinita31314 жыл бұрын
They give you backpack literally the first day you get there along with all your basic necessities, so you wont need to bring one. However you will likely travel through your MEPS a day or two before getting to Recruit Training, so you'll likely need to bring a bag for your toiletries or extra clothes, but you will send that personal bag and all its contents (including your phone) back in a box you ship home when you arrive at training.

Q1: do they size u up for bras and or underwear? Q2: is there anything that u regret not bringing in boot-camp?
@molinita31314 жыл бұрын
From what I remember all the girls knew their sizes, its very general for the underwear i believe just XS, S, M, L, XL but I don't really remember and the bras are a bit more specific so try to get an idea of your sizing before hand. The RDC there will also likely be able to tell for the most part what sizes you are just by sizing other girls as well. And for the most part I felt I had all I needed throughout boot camp, from the very small things i did bring (which i show in my what to bring to bootcamp video) to later getting what they supplied once i got to boot, you're pretty much covered.

Wow! Loved this video! I’m leaving dec 10 for bootcamp and this made me feel a little more at ease. Been kinda nervous! How ready were you physically before you went ?
@molinita31316 жыл бұрын
Cristina Garcia thank you so much 💕 and physically I ran a mile and a half in about 16 min before leaving and could only do maybe 10 good pushups (some extra ones that were pretty bad)and 55 crunches. After going through boot camp I got my run to under 13:30, 30 ish pushups and maybe 60ish crunches. So just look up the required amount you need according to the PRT standards and try to be around that so you can easily get your numbers in boot.
@CristinaGarcia-us8rw6 жыл бұрын
Bryanna Molina thanks love. Right now I can do my mile and a half in like 15:30 and like about 55 or so sit-ups and 20-25 push-ups but I’ve still beeen nervous like how much do we pt at. Bootcamp is it like so much where your body hurts a lot?
@molinita31316 жыл бұрын
@@CristinaGarcia-us8rw Honestly yes, you pt usually 4 to 5x a week and you can get IT'd pretty regularly, or at least in my division we did. Some divisions get more, some less every one is different depending on the RDCs leading the division, but you definitely can make it through. It's physically taxing but also emotionally draining, but as long as you keep focus and realize its temporary you can see it for what it is: a stepping stone to your naval career (whether for 4 years or 20 😉)
@CristinaGarcia-us8rw6 жыл бұрын
Bryanna Molina wow thanks! I really needed that. Beeen kinda stressed lately. I was super excited but then been super sad lately with leaving friends and fam, like saddddd! But know I want to do this I want to see what the Navy is like and I know I will gain so much experiences that I would never gotten. Did you ever feel like sad at all before going or any doubts at some point ?
@molinita31316 жыл бұрын
@@CristinaGarcia-us8rw That is completely normal! I think most people have a bit of self doubt and definitely sad feelings about leaving behind all you know when enlisting because at the end of the day it is a huge commitment. But all that being said, I know I was beyond close with my mom, sister, and a few others in my family, yet I was able to make it through and am still going strong. It won't be easy and it can be overwhelming if you don't learn to make new connections, be open minded and learn to see every change as an opportunity. I never would have believed how close I would become with so many people who aren't my blood family, but yet can say I have been blessed to have just that. In no way does my navy fam replace my actual family but they are able to grow with me in the here and now, while my family (Who i am still very close with) support and love me from a bit farther away. It's def not the same but different isn't bad at all either. My family back home love and support me and now that I'm in Hawaii we still find a way to make it work, and additionally I have my navy family here with me (and some now all over the sates and world) who keep me up as well. Keep your head up and mind and heart open, the navy like anything else in life is definitely going to be trying but its an adventure, that for me so far has been well worth the work.

I think its easiest to go in knowing our creed, the general orders, and definitely rank and recognition. The ranks were the hardest to learn for me because they're different for each rank and each uniform so the easier you start the learning them the easier it'll be during boot.
