I just recorded videos for my new series about sensory sensitivities and what you are talking about is very relatable to me.

I swear by earplanes earplugs. I have to get the child's size because I have small ears, but they really help and are a lot less expensive than loop earplugs, so it''s no biggie if I lose a pair. They're made of silicone and are meant to help with pressure changes when you're flying, but they turn down noise pretty well too, and they're not noticeable to others if you're wearing your hair down. I wear them to sleep as well.

About your allergic reaction to wool, I have the same sensitivity. My solution is to wear a thin cotton layer underneath the woolly top. Like you too, I have a very sensitive sense of smell; although, strangely enough, I do love some delicate, subtle perfumes.

I do the same thing most of the time, wearing at least a tank top underneath. I wish I could tolerate more scents. I can usually tolerate a light coconut scent, but that’s about it.

i have the same experience - noises and light are electrocution painful, i get buzzing brain noise, migraines, glare awareness.... i carry ear plugs in my pocket and i always have eye protection. i take routes that keep me out of the direct sun. sorry about your mom yelling. for me, it was my dad. stabbing pain needs to be avoided. have you tried flair earbuds or a type that you keep in - to take the pitch down? theres nothing worse than unexpected sharp noise. glad we have business clothes that are comfortable. i buy used j.jill and soft surroundings and bamboo (tencel). oh, i have raynauds too. i get rechargeable electric hand warmers and dress in layers. with SPD, raynauds and autism, you should be able to get a handicapped placard so you dont have to walk a mile to work.

I’m sorry about your dad yelling. It’s especially awful when you can’t tell a parent what’s wrong bc they’re the problem & saying so will only make it worse. Haven’t tried those ear plugs, but I’m thinking about getting some. Most of the time I have my Bose earbuds in. I usually enjoy the walking- just not so much when I forget my earbuds. Or if it’s cold & wet outside. I dress in layers too and carry a backpack full of weather essentials.

@@Sensory0verlord yeah, bad parents take a toll. if you are trying the flair or loop earbuds, get the attachable line so you can wear them around your neck. they fall out of my ears - I'm a hard fit (in between sizes). I carry weather gear as well. I'm never without ear plugs (3M ear pods), lip balm, tissues, snack, water and a rubber glove (in case I want to pick something up, but don't want to touch it with bare hands).

72-96h fasts can help with all kinds of neurological issues because it increases neuronal growth and does many other helpful things. Worth a shot!

I can only go from dinner to breakfast (12-14 hours, most of which are spent sleeping) without food because of hypoglycemia. I also limit sugar, alcohol, & highly processed foods bc of that as well. 😕
