Love the old Desoto Firedomes. I used to see a red and white one parked in a yard for years and then one day it was gone. A few summers ago i saw a two tone green one driving along.

In your restoration series you need 30-40 min long videos of you working/cleaning up your project cars

Thanks for the input I’ll try and make some longer series. My only problem is I live so far out in the country it literally already takes 3 hours to upload a 10min video lol I might have to upgrade Internet companies

That trunk mat looks like it may be intact under all the stuff that's in there. If you are able to remove that in one piece, those are pretty much unobtanium.

Refinishing chrome is a real process. But for someone restoring it might be the only way. Great days to you man ! Good on ya to try and part out what you can !

Do you know of any way to help rid of rust on Chrome other then coke and aluminum foil

Not a lot that you can do in your shop... proper refinishing is long and involved with many steps and processes that are very toxic.

@@canadianclassics Haven't had much luck finding any aftermarket rear quarters for it. The only ones I can find were patch panels from Layson's Restoration. If you have some other websites I'd appreciate it. I need the whole lower half of the quarter. From the front of the wheel arch to the rear valance. Both drivers and passenger sides. Thanks for your time!

@@jackcurran4899 Where are you ? I have a great friend who is a 1963 to 1968 Valiant guru. He has over 100 of them. I have bought Many rust-free Valiant fenders, grilles, spears, and recently bought a killer 64 2 door hardtop Valiant 200 from him. His prices are great. We are on the Gulf Coast.

Hey, actually that's a Fireflite! 4bbl hemi rather than the 2bbl Firedome, along with differences in the stainless side trim. Painted headlight buckets, etc. A number of differences, but mostly inconsequential to what parts you have.
