I just P/X my S6 V8T for a 19 plate RS3 saloon and I'm totally amazed at the difference. I feel like a born again driver, looking for an excuse to get in and go blast it down the road!!!at over 63, this is a great buzz for me...never felt that in the S6, as much as I loved the sound of the V8, the sound and acceleration of my standard RS3 is Awesome!

Some interesting points here around the poor fuel economy of the RS6. Especially on the motorway. This model and previous models have cylinder deactivation on the motorway where they turn from a 4 L eight cylinder down to a 2 L four-cylinder to increase fuel return? I’m surprised this was not mentioned. But then on the other hand this is an Archie Hamilton video, so it’s hardly surprising , He probably didn’t even know that feature exists on the RS6

I have cylinder deactivation as well on my 2017 GTI Clubsport, but i deactivated it with OBD Eleven because Start/Stop cars wears out the engine way faster! 👍

Deactivating half of the cylinders surely causes uneven engine wear? I hate the idea, yes you might get slightly better fuel economy but over time create an imbalanced engine with uneven wear

An RS3 contains a 55 litre tank or 12 uk gallons. When he filled it up for 70 quid, he only got 42 litres meaning a full tank is actually 90 quid.

Glad you have a sportback on order. Not a huge fan of the saloon/sedan styling. Not sure what the winge is on fuel consumption with your RS6? It's a 2 ton 4.0L turbo V8 lol.... Likewise when you owned both SRV's....Everyman and his dog knows they are crazy on fuel. At the price of these cars I don't understand the concern on the running costs. Surly you would know this prior to purchase/leasing the car.

Sigh. I lease an M2 Competition that needs to be returned in Sept. I'd like to get an RS3 next, but nobody can tell me when they'll be available to order in the states. Online I've ready March 2022, May 2022 and Summer 2022. I called my local dealer, and they just said they didn't know. So I have no way of knowing when I'd actually take delivery of one. That being said, the loss of a real gear shifter and no more flat bottomed steering wheel in the states is bothering me anyway though. Who makes these damn decisions?

When you fill the car with petrol there is a holder for the petrol cap on the flap, this stops the cap from damaging the paintwork etc .😂🤷🏻‍♂️

Pan roof ? Its a sun roof LOL Fuel consumption same as older S3 so why pay £50k to £80k ? Is the older RS3 the same fuel consumption ? I do prefer the front of the new RS3 and at last black badges as I did on my S3. Nice car but I do like the older one as well just a shame no one has done a better after market front bumper for the older car. Thinking of adding after market RS3 style front bumper to my 2017 S3 which stock does 4.5 sec 0 to 60.

He keeps mentioning the RS3 Is 50k list, but it just isn't. The Vorsprung he is driving is £61.6k not including the RS Dynamic Package. Starting Price of the base trim line RS3 with no options is £54.4k. Seems to be trying to make the car look cheaper than it is to make it seem good value for money.

on motorway 70-75mph my 780bhp tuned RS7 c8 sits at 32mpg? how are you getting 20mpg from your stock slow RS6 on motorway???

Its true an rs6 is crap on fuel even in 7th gear at 70mph on a long motorway journey feathering the throttle along at 2500rpm itll barely hit 20mpg. Its shockingly bad.

Do you not use adaptive cruise? mine is that same as an RS6 c8...identical engine near identical weight, im stage two tuned and get 30mpg no problem at 75mph..if your getting 20mpg on motorway your car isnt running well, id get it checked by dealer. I drove 2 hours to QST tuning on the m25 last week and dropped the car there showing 30mpg after doing m25 and backroads. Yes round town ragging it you get 20mpg and less ...not on m way
