For me it's about which one is more planted, which one goes faster through corners, whichever it is I like it more, suspecting that might be this audi in this case which is a huge step up since audis aren't know to handle really very well. Literally the most important thing about a car is how fast it confidently goes through corners. That's why I'm surprised manufacturers haven't made a combination of track focused supercars and track focused hot hatches category because that would be so so awesome, off course manual transmission is a must (sad they don't have it in rs3)...

Very good Review! Based on our 32,143 mile testing, the only change we made were wheels/tires now running 245/40/18 on Neuspeed RSe10 18X8.5 wheels, which greatly improved the quality of our weekly country back road runs. Now at 47,783 total miles, of which 34,321 miles have been fast country back road runs as weather has permitted. Our 2019 RS 3 has performed perfectly, based on my many years of country back road runs, since 1958. A truly great vehicle indeed! (this comment edited 7/19/23 to include updates)

A few comments if Audi is listening. Great tail lights, but what happened to the headlights? I feel they are far too edgy and a step back from the prior design year. I would have preferred a look similar to the 2021 RS6. Also, please don't follow in the footsteps of the Toyota Supra and add fake vents to the bumpers. This automotive trend needs to stop. The grill looks good, but it should have maintained a traditional Audi shape. Flaring out the center grill under the headlights in gloss black does not look right. Interior looks great, but please also stop with the glossy black plastics. My 2016 VW Golf R has this and it's a scratch / fingerprint magnet. I will never buy another car with glossy black plastics inside due to this. The interior on a $60K car should be robust and built to last. Otherwise nice looking Audi. The mechanical choices appear to be spot on (5-cylinder engine, rear diff, etc).

What’s it like off the start? I have the old RS3 and it’s pretty crummy from a start. It’s very jerky…all or nothing. Gets annoying when you’re not drag racing every time you stop and start. It’s not a great around town car, but it’s damn awesome in the canyons. My R8 I can put in COMFORT and it drives like a S8 sedan, the RS3 in comfort is still herky jerky. And in PERFORMANCE mode it doesn’t shift anywhere as good as the R8. Without having driven an R8 you wouldn’t know it, but having both I can feel how slow the RS3 shifts when paddle shifting. The RS3 chassis is also very flexy and not all that stiff. When driving up a driveway if you take it at an angle you can hear the chassis flex and creak. But in the corners it’s super fun. Have to figure out how to drive it though which is half the fun. When you figure out that it likes to accelerate through a corner (a no no in most cars) it opens up a world of smiles.

Slightly off topic, but car prices are relevant and know one seems to put 2 and 2 together. Privately owned central banks print money into existence this takes time to filter into the prices, they have printed trillions- ruining our purchasing power.....this is why cars are expensive, so are real goods copper, zinc, magnesium, with or without convid-1984 shut downs, the supply chains shortages etc prices would rise anyway, due to more money circulating chasing the same amount of goods. Inflation simply put is 'increase in money supply'.(we have had huge increase since 2008 trillions on trillions).. not prices rising, that is the effect! But sadly people are lied to & misinformed to hide the truth about bankers counterfeiting their respective fiat currencies. So buckle up these private western bankers don't care about the cost of goods, just helping prop up the markets so their banker buddies share values are strong. They only care when the masses wake up and realize what they've done to the currency as we slip towards hyper inflation.

Unfortunately using this cars capabilities in Yorkshire in the corners is impossible as you will end up collecting several lycra loonies wandering around the road usually above the age of 50 trying to do their best to get replacement knees on the nhs

@@umairejaz6665 Totally agree. No soul. It’s a little odd, because they’re simultaneously very quick, yet not at all exhilarating. Weird combo

Not sure the carbon comes with adaptive suspension. Again I think you can only get sports exhaust with the dynamic pack 5k extra from the base model, can’t see the 1k extra mentions. I found this review quite boring and inaccurate

Hi Ollie - we got our information direct from Audi. We were told the RS sports exhaust is available as an individual option for £960 or as part of the RS Dynamic Pack - the UK configurator appears to back that up. Configurator does suggest adaptive suspension is a £960 on the Carbon, so we'll clarify with Audi. Thanks for feedback.

@@whatcar what’s the exhaust individual option called for £960 as I can’t see it. Probably due to pandemic and parts but Audi have really disappointed with extras and lack of configurability. We went for carbon just because we didn’t want the round steering wheel with vorsprung. Lack on interior configuration is really disappointing and only red callipers on launch edition which you can’t buy?!?
@whatcar3 жыл бұрын
@@olliejackson762 It's called RS sports exhaust system - Black (www.audi.co.uk/uk/web/en/models/a3/rs-3-sportback/equipment.html#layer=/uk/web/en/models/a3/rs-3-sportback.mediathek_infolayer.MAER0P8.html). It's a shame about limited interior options for UK buyers. Hopefully that will change in the future. Sure you'll enjoy the car regardless!

@@whatcar apologies I stand corrected! I can’t see them changing the config options for some time with rumours that vorsprungs have gone back to summer 2022. Perhaps they will offer different configs later in 2022

I had the previous version which did 0-62 in 3.7 seconds out of the box and sounded a whole lot better as it wasn't strangled by a particulate filter. Won't be getting this one. The DAZA engine in the outgoing car can easily and safely make around 500bhp/600nm with little more than an ECU tune and in that guise is more of a match for an R8 V10 than an A45S.

is that the ugliest PUKE GREEN you have ever seen and the fakest sound that you can pump into your cabin with a stereo! "Its a pity that Audi decided to go the route of a synthetic sound through a speaker" when will the germans ever learn how to design and engineer a car...no SWAG!
