Hey thanks for that compliment. I had a 2021 Tundra TRD Pro so I know what you mean. It was a great truck and as much as I absolutely loved it and missed it every single day I got rid of it, this truck blows it out of the water.

Nice truck man !! I just bought a 2024 tundra as of 8/8/24 same as yours but with a 3 inch TRD lift and blacked out trims , that came straight from the factory , after taking a close look at the Rebel , tremor and ZR2 Silverado I bought the tundra just much better fit and finish with body gaps being all even and interior is more solid , not to mention the tundra is built like a 3/4 ton truck , the rear axle has 10.75 inch ring gear bigger than the previous Gen2 tundras 10.5 inch , driveline Upper & lower A arms , upper and lower ball joints , tie rods , front axle are just MASSIVE , so far I’m in love with this truck and planning to keep it for a very long time . I went with 275/60 Toyo open country AT3’s and ended up going with the Rino RB30’s just absolutely loving the truck . It pulls hard too with lots of low end torque . Keep us posted on your Awesome Gen3 Tundra , beautiful truck indeed !!

The 2023 tundra wasn’t a consideration until I started shopping for a new replacement truck. I couldn't find a truck locally without a market value adjustment. After watching your videos I decided on test driving a tundra. After test drive the tundra power was amazing, the driving experience was impressed handle well, comfortable and felt solid. Comparing to my daily driven Silverado and weekend Escalade it fell in the middle between my current vehicles. I purchased 1794 Trd edition. Had it lifted to level height, 34’s and tinted windows within the first two weeks. After a month I changed the exhaust and installed trd air filters. Meanwhile I purchased a 2018 turdra for a daily driver for work. So I get to compare second gen the third gen in real world driving.

I see from other comments you are loving the truck! In an at4 now and considering a rebel or a similarly equipped tundra to this one, how are you liking the tundra vs the ram? Something is pulling me that way…maybe just that I’ve never owned a ram and the v8…the body also just seems a little less plastic-y? I love Toyota and will probably just go that direction, but curious to hear your early review
@OdysseyOffroad Жыл бұрын
The Ram was nice i really had no complaints. Had an air leak in the windshield when i got it but the dealer fixed it. My brother and father have Rams currently. The toyota is smoother and faster though. I love the v8s but its true these twin turbo v6s make more power. I am a bit biased toward toyota but i enjoy driving the tundra more . Im almost at 500 miles on it. My Tundra is more optioned than my Ram was. They both have tons of plastic inside.(dont all vehs?) The limited tundra is all soft touch on the upper doors and lower dash though. I love the screen in the tundra 14" of full usable screen is amazing!

It's a bit odd that they don't have a leveling platform that folds out like my ram. I've put so much cargo in the back seat of my ram i absolutely love this feature. I have a 23 platinum hybrid. And my biggest complaint is the gas mileage fraud. Something needs to be done about this. They need to be heald accountable for real. The Interior space is hideous. There is nowhere to put anything. This is a home Depot truck for retired people. The hard plastic scratches really easy. This is not a road trip truck. I'm 5'11 I barely fit in the truck. No storage anywhere. Almost impossible to eat lunch in the truck. The engine sounds like a Scandia go-kart and my dealer refuses to turn off the fake sound. The truck feels like it's going to die every time I stop at a stop sign. Stop start technology has a long way to go. But the worst part is the mpgs fraud. I really hope someone files a class action lawsuit against the lies they claimed. I bought the truck based on the mpg rating completely unacceptable. This is my 10th Toyota and by far the worst. I've loved all my other Toyotas. The lack of a home button on the infotainment Center is just completely unbelievable...and the suspension and Driving Experience is harsh. It struggles to go up hill, not the power but the trany. Now the platinum grill is chiping off. The windows are really loud. The dealer ship refuses to fix the broken phone charger and windows.
@OdysseyOffroad Жыл бұрын
Wow that was a mouthful. You certainly got a lot of complaints listed there. I'm sure some are legitimate. The lack of storage that's something you should have realized before you bought the truck that's not really something you can complain about after the fact. You bought a hybrid you knew it had no storage under the rear seats as a result 🤷🏻♂️. I can't imagine how you being 5'11 have a hard time fitting in the truck. Here are people much much larger than you who have driven these drugs and do not complain at all about leg room or fitting in the truck. Coming from my Ram 1500 quality and fit and finish and the room inside is not any better in that truck nor was it any better on my Silverado trail boss prior to that. I'm absolutely loving this truck I'm getting over 20 miles to the gallon on the highway. That's nothing to complain about in a full size truck at all and it's not even broken in yet. I only have 350 mi on it. I find the right quality amazing and better than most other trucks I have owned. Today for example I drove my brother's 22 Ram 1500 with the GT package hemi 392 gears back to back with mine and mine drove nicer and has smoother power than his. Me personally I never would have bought the hybrid and hence why I did not. If you're looking for superb gas mileage and that's the reason why you bought the hybrid then you made the wrong decision because Toyota has said the hybrid is for more power it has nothing to do with getting better gas mileage. I think people will just complain no matter what everybody complained about the last generation Tundra I would use too much fuel and I would agree I had one and that's why I got rid of it because the gas mileage was terrible as much as I love the truck I couldn't justify a fuel mileage. That being said my current one is not even broken in yet and I'm already getting at least 2 to 3 miles per gallon better than the previous generation and it's got way more features and more creature comforts and waaay more power. The artificial engine noise is barely noticeable and doesn't bother me at all. To each their own I guess. Maybe you should trade the truck in for something else the good thing is you bought a Toyota and it holds its value better than any other vehicle so you shouldn't be too upside down. 👍🏻
@vinsanityguitar Жыл бұрын
@OdysseyOffroad the gas mileage was advertised as 20-24 miles a gallon. This truck gets just over 17 miles a gallon. Best case scenario that's a 15% flat-out fraud. I did not buy the truck thinking it was a gas hybrid. I knew full well what I was purchasing is the saying after much research. My 2014 Tundra which I still have, gets just over 15 miles a gallon. So they completely rebuilt the engine to redesign the truck to get two miles and gallon better? The center console does not fit a standard contractors biding book. Again my 2014 easily fits. The legroom is about not being able to open my legs wide enough to be comfortable. I have the same problem in my sienna. I do not have that problem in my 2014. The truck struggles to go uphill because the transmission doesn't downshift fast enough. The engine noise for me is almost unbearable I can't stand the way it sounds like a go-kart. Unfortunately my dealer flat-out refuses to turn off the engine noise fix the window seals and fix the phone charger. And they charged me $40 to remove a screw out of a tire in a hundred-thousand-dollar truck. The things I do like about the truck are. It's by far the best-looking truck out there. The sunroof is amazing! The infotainment screen is amazing! The modern technology and Creature Comforts are amazing. The sound system is amazing.
@OdysseyOffroad Жыл бұрын
@@vinsanityguitar I get it man you expected more mpgs. Based on what you are saying however i get the impression you are driving though mountain rds maybe? You're not going to get out of gas mileage as you will driving on a flat highway and MPGs are very subjective in the fact that everyone drives differently and drives their highway speeds at different rates these things are averaged by the EPA at around 60 mph. so if you going 70 to 75 or up mountain passes you're going to get significant less fuel mileage. Especially with a turbo vehicles because once you dip into the boost that's where it uses the fuel. In drive highway speeds of around 75 and get 20 mpg on freeway with only 350 miles on it. That's only going to improve when i get to brake in 5 to 10k miles on it. My 21 tindra got at best 18 so its already beat that. You're complain about the transmission seems like maybe your particular truck has an issue because I have never heard anyone complain about lack of power or transmission shifting issues with their Tundra I would suggest you take it to the dealer and have them check the transmission fluid level and let them know what you're complaints are about the poor downshifting, maybe try another service dept also. That is definitely not a complaint anyone has with the new truck. Of all the things people complain about power and the transmission is not one of them on this new truck the power is amazing and the transmission seems to be terrific.

I know some people complained about some things in the 22. I haven't experienced any of those things with my 23. How have your 2 held up? 2 tundras Lucky !!

@@dustindewitt1553 i definitely agree there a lot of complaints about nonsense out there thats for sure. I absolutely love this thing. Blows my 2019 and 2021 tdr pro out of the water.

Nice truck I can’t see paying that much for a pick up. Price jump 38 % on all toyota vehicles
@OdysseyOffroad Жыл бұрын
I understand what you are saying about the price jump and I don't disagree they are expensive. But if you look across the board. Its competitively priced with all the major brands. Fords are actually more expensive. Everything is expensive these days. You are getting a lot more truck though then you used to get as well.

wow you paid way too much. I just bought a 2023 tundra limited TRD off road IForce max panoramic roof with every safety feature and all the options MSRP sticker was 68,000.00 then dealer fee's were 500.00 and I paid out the door with tax title and registration 62,750.00

This was almost 5 months ago. I just bought another one as this one was totaled. Also depends where you are located. Not getting a deal like that here in southern az. You also just bought a leftover 2023 model they've been selling 2024s for 2 months already that's why you got to deal you did. You would never have gotten that same deal 6 months ago.

Beautiful truck, but those running board steps are treacherous , my friend took his off because of how many times people hurt themselves, horrible design

That's a good one! Unfortunately it ended up being GI Tow. 🥹

One of the major decisions for me to buy my tundra was the fact the truck was built in America, the big three trucks are built in Mexico or Canada. All of my previous GM vehicles are assembled/built in America. I won’t buy a vehicle for myself that wasn’t built by my fellow Americans.

😂 American built cars are trash 🗑️

I hate my 2023. It sucks pulling my bass boat. It’s constantly beeping and making noise. Tons of plastic and seats are cracking AGAIN! Should have never sold my V8. And way over priced
@OdysseyOffroad7 ай бұрын
I am sorry to hear that. Nothing worse than regret after a big purchase. Trust me i know the feeling. I miss my 21 pro. I get the interior issues but the beeping doesn't seem right. When towing all those alerts turn off as soon as my truck detects it is hooked up to a trailer. Seems something is not working correctly with yours.
