Hey, Rawsie does not exist anymore. Do you have a suitable alternative to recommend?

I am usually so exhausted after a wedding there's no way I could cull the whole thing. Hell I'm lucky if I can just offload the cards that night.

Right!?! I feel like I’ve been run over by a bus when I get home after 10 hour plus weddings 😂 Culling when I get home? Hell nah lol

Now imagine after a double or triple shoot. 👀 I wish I had that energy, lol.

I never touch it till Monday ,my video guy loads everything same day. For the past 15 plus years. He is so consistent and I’m jealous. We usually do double weddings and he does both same day it happened. Amazes me.

FYI: Amazon Photos has UNLIMITED cloud photo storage for Prime members that includes RAW files. I back up all RAW and final edits in Amazon.
@TaylorJacksonPhoto2 жыл бұрын
That’s awesome they do this

Don't their Terms say that any files loaded up to Amazon automatically give them full rights to those files? Many people may not care but you'd hate to find Amazon marketing one of your shots.

@@NickLPhoto I assumed Amazon was similar to Facebook: Specifically, when you share, post, or upload content that is covered by intellectual property rights (like photos or videos) on or in connection with our Products, you grant us a non-exclusive, transferable, sub-licensable, royalty-free, and worldwide license to host, use, distribute, modify, run, copy, publicly perform or display, translate, and create derivative works of your content...

Let's see how long that lasts since they're closing their cloud drive and shifting it to amazon photos. I wouldn't be that sure that they'll keep the unlimited storage. Hopefully tho.

I used photo mechanic for years but I switched to Narrative AI. It’s WAY BETTER. It can allow you to see who’s eyes are open and if they’re in focus at a glance and they have zoom in of all the faces to the right of you click the faces box.

I’m really excited to try out Imagen, could speed my edits up massively!
@photo20002 жыл бұрын
Just started using it. Out of all the AI programs our there, I felt it was one of the easier to work with. It's a stand alone program, that modifies your existing LR catalogue. really easy to install and use. And once you've created your own custom edit profile, it gets your edits to a great starting place...which may be fine for most people... I'm a bit of a perfectionist, so I have to go in and still male modifications to the edit. But then can upload the fine tune, to further educate the AI on my profile. It's a great program, which has automated the first parts of my workflow

I only keep finished/edited raw files (as the exported jpeg). Anything for a client is saved as 100% jpeg most other stuff is saved at 80% for my own archives. Once the images are culled to the keepers and ready to be edited I delete the raw files I am not going to edit (the non-keepers are tagged as such in Photo Mechanic so it easy to select them all and delete.

So do you work off the external hard rive when doing all the editing and culling? Or are the apps pulling files from the laptops internal ssd? Thanks! Great vid.
@melanietaylorphoto59942 жыл бұрын
What size SSD do you use? And do you store files on it long term or only use it for files you're working on? Culling is my greatest weakness. I need to speed it up!

I use 4 or 8 TB drives. When the backup drive is full I put it in a safe and buy a new one

Is the 98% trick a common thing for wedding photographers to do? I did some googling to try and find info on it and couldn't find much.

Bloody hell. That's a lot of automation. Which is clearly faster than processing individual pics but my brain is hurting. I do have a question to people though, if you are using two cameras or even three, how are you presenting pics in the order of the day? Unless I manually alter the names, I end up with a full days pics from one camera in the folder and then another full days set from the other camera.

Just sort by capture time and rename them in photo mechanic for me

So Rawsie converts the raw files into DNG. Can't we just convert all of the raw files after editing into DNGs using Adobes DNG Converter and then safe the 80 bucks a year?
@Crane_Weddings2 жыл бұрын
Do you back up the original RAWs the night of to your backup HD? Do you delete them from the backup HD and replace them with your small RAW files after you've compressed everything?
@TaylorJacksonPhoto2 жыл бұрын
after the season I will delete all the originals and just keep the smaller Rawsie files. Could do this after each wedding as well
