I like that 2-door idea, and the lift underneath should serve you very well. Still planning my cheapo build at the moment, probably built with 80%+ scrap.

Looks good, I am in the process of making one for my Ikier with the extension rails. The concern I would have is that if you have your air assist inside a smoky enclosure, aren't you just blowing smoky air into the laser path? Why not place it outside the cabinet? I know you have the exhaust fan, but still?

If you higher and lower your honeycomb base to accommodate various thicknesses of wood how can you guarantee it’s level each time as the lift mechanism can’t be spot on in accuracy each time it’s moved.
