If Suzuki had a maintenance trailer that followed the tour, and there were more available places to have them serviced, would you consider putting one of the new Suzuki's on your boat or do you live an die by the Mercury?!! I am not throwing shade or any hate at the Mercury whatsoever, I was just wondering because I'm considering putting one of the new Suzuki's on my boat. But the only downfall is there's not very many places to have them serviced. So when you get one you might as well go ahead and get another lower unit and a couple extra props... But I know that you and Adrian are good buddies and he runs Suzuki and I was wondering if you had ever driven his boat and felt the experience of that motor? A boats a boat a boat . I don’t see how these boat manufacturers think there’s enough people to pay a 100.000 -150.000 rigged for a boat. How many people are dumb enough to finance a boat for 25-30 years. They don’t touch principle for 22 years. There so upside down they run all the hair off there head. Everyone says the youth is the future of the sport. We’ll all the manufactures just priced them out of the game. There going to be like the auto industry. There going to have lots full of units that they can’t sell. I hope they continue to raise there prices 10-15% a year. I sale used boats and sell all I can get my hands on and don’t set on them more than three weeks. It’s stupid now how the used market is booming . Nobody wants to admit that we’re in bad times with the current administration. It probably want be long until the banks realize they made a big mistake doing 20-30 yr notes on a boat. That’s when the manufactures are going to fall by the way side. The glory days of covid are long gone the boat builders better wake up. It

Speed isnt really too big an issue if you fish the BSPT, with the format of no weigh in.

For sure, but when I fished the MLF super tournaments that were 5 fish and a weigh in the fastest I went in that triton was 57mph. I got 1st, 2nd and 2nd. I personally have always thought it’s overrated

Nice overview...was wondering what you were going to do for a TM. Looks like a sweet ride. For all the uninformed haters. Bought an 18ft Ranger in 1995. only factory option...2 in-dash flashers. $27,000 In today's dollars $54,508 Now add all the HIGH cost options...screens, transducers, hyd. jack plate, charger, tm and power poles, etc.... FYI. Went to my Academy store yesterday (Knoxville). Crush City display was pretty much empty and they were out of your spinning rods. Pretty common for this store, rarely find what I'm looking for. Fishing department is not a priority.

I concur. I’m a Knoxville Academy guy too. And our academy fishing section reminds me of the back of a Walmart. lol, dirty, empty shelves, and dim. I have found some gems on occasion.. “cough.. spark shads..” but generally is out of a lot of things. I found a killer selection of crush city stuff at Alcoa Dicks the other day if you’re still looking.

Pretty far fetched if you ask me. Most inshore guys and flats guys use the same active target and livescope we are. Apparently there are 2 or 3 custom forward transducers but I don’t think they are practical in freshwater at all. Omni sonar is a COMPLETELY different ballgame

One thing that I have always loved about following Wheeler is I felt like he was the angler that represented the working man. The stuff he endorses has always been really good but yet affordable. I think I own about 25 of his rods. When he switched from Triton to Ikon that changed. I get it I am sure it was going to benefit his bank account but dang, 120k plus rig that the average guy will never be able to afford. Plus IMO Ikon boats are butt ugly. I mean why is there a big dent in the side of the boat??? Looks retarded.

I’m just giving my honest opinion. Nothing more nothing less. Is this boat expensive? Yes! Is it a high end and super well built boat? Absolutely! Just about every 20+ brand new bass boat is extremely expensive. Now and days it’s not only boat cost that are skyrocketing the prices it’s all the added accessories. Look at the new trolling motors now. They cost twice as much as they did 4 years ago, add 4 graphs livescope and battery’s you are looking 20k+.

I catch ten to fifteen nice bass every trip I take in my nine thousand dollar aluminum bass boat with a forty HP Mercury and a one hundred dollar fish finder. You see, in the seventies and eighties it took knowledge and skill to catch fish. We didn't need under water cameras and over priced boats and gadgets. You younuns today rely on technology instead of experience. Besides, it's called fishing for a reason. What y'all are doing is not called fishing, it's called meat catching. Sota like hunting use to be hunting but today it's called bait a spot and shooting. Technology has made a sport out of what use to be feed your family.

With a 40hp I wouldn’t even be able to make it to the spots with time to fish before I have to turn around and come back for weigh in. Not crazy to run 40 miles one way to get to the good spots up here

@@devinwillis7787 never in my life have I had to travel more than a few miles to fill a livewell on any lake and Texas has 100,000 acre lakes. I preplan my trip for the conditions and time of year and water levels . I've seen guys pull into a spot cast twenty times and leave , while I fish more diligently in the same area and catch fish. Actually, those guys with big motors fail to shut down their engines when approaching a point/ cove and they ruin the fishing for everyone. Fishing is about stealth. If I'm in less than four foot of water I use a push pole instead of my trolling motor. I caught more fish in the seventies per day than I do now because of the inconsiderate idiots in 300 HP bass boats churning up and down the lake turning it into a blender milkshake. This is the main reason I fish the smaller lakes in Texas with HP limits and now I'm constructing 12 acre lake on my land so that I'll have a private place to fish as I get older

@@devinwillis7787 it's like most things in life. I don't fish tournaments for a living so it is makes an expensive boat a wasteful purchase. It's just amazingly crazy how expensive boats have become. Back in 1996 I bought a loaded 21 foot Charger boat with a 200 HP Suzuki oil injected motor with a tandem trailer for 25,600 dollars. That's how much the motor cost nowadays, maybe more. I'm almost 60 so I've downsized my truck, boat and next year when I retire , I'm downsizing my new house on our 40 acre farm. I guess instead of putting money in rustable, depreciating boats , I'm building a twelve acre lake on my land instead

I do see why people don’t want these boats but if you like to just go casually fish for fun then why even look at these kinds of boats. I haul the Chemicals that make up these boats. We sale trailers of all sorts and am absolutely completely confused that a year 2000 boat loaded out went from $26,000 to $100,000 So the engine and Electronics a d trolling motors account for the extra $75k
