Small solar panels already exist, but they would take forever to recharge the e-bike. A larger panel works much better.
@Hrossey4 ай бұрын
You’d need 4x12v panels wired the correct way, to make a 48v solar panel. A basic BMS to regulate spiking, and it will charge a 48v battery. Honestly? It would take you 2 whole days of sun just to charge your battery once. The size of the panels wired this way would be way too large. Still possible though for sure so long as you wanted to charge it this way from home ✅

Later on this year I want to get a trailer for my bike to convert into a camper with solar panels on the roof and make it into my bug out base on wheels. Later this summer I want to try going on a cross state bike ride with my ebike and camper. Back when I was a teenager 14 or 15 mph (about 28 to 30 kph) was my average regular speed on my mountain bike on flat terrain. I could easily hit 20 to 25 mph (40 -50 kph) on a hill in relatively flat Michigan. As such I like my ebikes able to go at least 20 mph. Fortunately in my home state of Washington ebikes are allowed to go up to 20 mph and still be legally treated as a regular bicycle.

I am an oldschool type of guy. Just a regular old mountain bike. The rear rack on your bike is a good arrangement... You know it can haul more if you are smart about it. My understanding of Electric bikes is that if they konk out, they are really heavy. I also wonder about their circuitry in case we have an EMP. or solar storm that fries the grid like the carrington event did.. Some folks have opted for smallish and very basic 50-90cc 2 stroke gas engine additions to their bikes... They will work hard, they are fast, and they are as simple as a lawnmower to work on... no worries about Electrical infrastructure stuff either. Some folks say, "Oh we aren't allowed to use 2 stroke motors, so why would we get one?" When the SHTF, will the gestapo be out to enforce the laws about lawnmowers and 2 strokes, or will you be the neighborhood hero for having a light and nimble and moderately capable ride to haul you and a bit of gear? You can also retrofit pretty much any bike with a small 2 stroke motor for cheap. as cheap as electric. Older style is sometimes better, although as far as electrics, that set up you got looks really good.

Possuo uma bicicleta eletrica também. Pedalo 60km diariamente nela. 800watts e bateria de 13ah. Velocidade de cruzeiro 34km/h, picos de 38km/h. É um excelente veículo.

Have fun pushing it. Jope it was a gift. I prefer a real bicycle, one specifically for bikepacking. Currently riding a Karate Monkey. I build bikes for fun.

Cool bike. It would be a good idea if you added a trailer. Then you could easily carry an extra battery and pick up supplies during an emergency.. I hope you have good security for that bike that no one could break or steal it. I'm still a cyclist at 74.

I looked at these bikes as an alternative to a motorcycle but it's difficult to get a solar charger for them, it is a nice idea though. I like the luggage rack, it looks like it'd hold a lot of camping gear.

Hi Lilly, great looking bike, FYI we will be offering a 220W Solar Blanket ebike charging kit that will be less than 12lbs with everything and fold up to the size of a laptop as well as a 300W Solar Blanket ebike charging kit. Should be releasing this by end of April.

Really nice bike , Lilly . Could you possibly do a review of the smaller bike . I thought it looked interesting . Thanks either way .
