Great video Tim, thanks for sharing. It’s nice to see these little less obvious “hidden gem” product reviews instead of being the 20th person to review the latest olight. It would be great if you could seek out some more of these less obvious choices of gear and often overlooked pieces of kit ( instead of the usual suspects and mainstream brands). I hope this bag provides some inspiration to Canadian Prepper for his next iteration of his already excellent bug out roll. His concept with some shoulder straps and Molle would be awesome.

Wonderful bag. For spending an hour in the livingroom setting it up. Then walking 20mins in the park without doing anything. Or to show off to friends and neighbors. But then, when you *really* try to use it outdoors you realize you can't get to any your gear without unfolding it every damn time, that if you hang it up for the night you wont have it with you, but the ants will have it all night, that midnight when you look for something, stuff will fall out from those vertically zipped mesh pockets, that it's already full, yet you carry nothing beyond small stuff. That the front puch has no dimenson and useless, that if you camp out longer than 2 days you will abandon all this neat over-organization and just throw stuff in as you go. But that's fine, since you don't have food, a blanket, any other clothes, you will chack into a motel...and for that it's an awesome bag.
@petrhanak862

Exactly, perfect comment. For me, something that has name "bug out" and does not have loops on the bag top and bottom to add for example blanket misses the point, regardless of how many M4 pouches or sitting mats included.. Get a Ratel Mk 2 from Helikon for same capacity, half the price and double the value/versatility/usefulness.

I love the look of that backpack, but the only thing it is missing is the lower part which don't have the straps to connect to the lower part of the body. The bag I have and purchased at the local military base is the type which we use in the military and I am use to.

Too pricey for me, but good video and I do like the concept of the pack being able to be opened up. You can see everything and yet it retains the pouches and bags inside with the MOLLE webbing so nothing falls out. This negates having to go thru the annoying process of emptying the bag or to fish around for things. Makes it possible to layout your gear, organize everything and not guess if you packed something or not.

Really like the pack setup. But I am already set up very well with a 5:11 RUSH MOAB 10 that I added a belt to by passing it through the hide away pocket for the shoulder strap not in use. Unbelievably comfortable and putting most of the weight onto the waist. However I am short at 5" and likely this wouldn't work for average height people. Friends always try to have a whistle and headlight with your pack first aid kits. You might not be the only one to need to grab the first aid kit. I experienced not having them with the kit once and things would have been better if those items would have been included.

Seems like good pricing for a high quality bag for its intended purpose. If I were to ever buy a bag in this price range it probably would be this one. I’m a big advocate for putting good money into good tools. For a backpack intended to be something for a potential life or death scenario you want to definitely have a good product. That being said it’ll be awhile before I spend money like that for that bag. If I were traveling cross country I for sure would but I don’t get out a ton. Thanks for the review man!

Bags that only retain their closed shape with a zipper are solely dependent on the zipper. If the bag is marketed to be used for the potentially worst days of your life, you are relying on a zipper to keep your shit together. Think about that. Why would anyone use any backpack that isn't a tube design for emergency use? They aren't convenient, they aren't fancy, but they will hold together in the worst of conditions.

I like the design, but no matter what kind of zippers they have in it, (including YKK) sooner or later they will break. Seems like a big mistake not to add compression straps to the outside to take pressure off the full length zippers. It's nice having a sleek pack, but sleek don't help ya when the zippers blow out....I guess the 2 inner compression straps help a bit...I just wouldn't trust them.

Indeed. Just not something I’ll use in a Bushcraft setting. But good call - I should have mentioned that.

Not sure of the brand but I'll see. I know my friend has one like this from Patagonia i.e. Patagucci.

It ends up to just be a Walmart brand - I don't have it on me now and I'm away, but I think it's maybe George (that's the brand). The cost was like $14. I looked around for something similar on-line but couldn't find anything near that cost. I found one sort of similar but it was $40.

Literally the only thing I cared about in this video. These preppers buy more crap than they could possibly ever actually use to know whether or not it's any good. Case in point....this entire set up is brand new and obviously nothing in that pack has ever been used. At least he's actually wearing the fleece.

I can totally agree with your assessment of the bag and it's layout, However, I just can't wrap my head around dishing out $144 for a bag. It would be the layout only that i am most interested in... i'll stick with my 3V Gear bag(s) & dry bag bag's for organization. as usual Tim, great vid & information thanks much.

Nice pack. I personally think the back panel is wasted space. If they added top/bottom dual access zip pouches on the inside of the back panel they would be very close to the perfect pack. This way small items could quickly be accessed from the top when the pack is not fully open or when the pack is fully open hanging on a tree. What do you think?
@EverydayTacticalVids

I like that idea - a few more access points would be nice.

Nice pack, I’ve tried many pack and I’ve found that the Canadian 82 pattern ruck works for me. You see all the expensive packs set up like mine but at a fraction of the cost and you get 3 exterior pockets (2sides pass behind for tools) a large bucket and 2 pockets in the lid. Also space for a bedroll at the bottom. It’s fairly light, distributes weight on the hips and at 35 lbs with water an axe and food it’s a joy to carry. I guess I’ll have to put out a video of my kit and pack. It’s inspiration comes from the pathfinder school and corporals corner. Hit the like button for a video and I’ll try to make one. Thanks
