keep us updated on what is going on with you Andy.. I deeply understand you cause I am going to leave my family, my country and all the things behind to start a new chapter in my medical life. It is gonna be hard at the beginning but as the life goes I guess we will be so proud of ourselves for keeping the art of medicine alive.

I live in New Haven and work in the ICU at Yale - hope you will be dropping patients off to me from the OR :) New Haven is a fantastic little city and the surrounding areas are wonderful, as well. We have a very diverse population and the food is incredible for a city its size. Try Lyman Orchards for golf (and delicious apple cider donuts in the fall). There's too many great restaurants to name them all but these come to mind: Camacho Garage, Mecha Noodle, Tavern on State, Coromandel, Haven Hot Chicken, Soul de Cuba, and really anything in Little Italy/Wooster Square. WELCOME!

omg i'm sure i'll definitely be working with you guys during intern year and definitely post-op in my CA years, pls be nice to the new residents we're trying our best and thank you for all your help in advance :). definitely adding all those places to my list!

Welcome to Connecticut and Yale, I work at the med school. The food trucks on Cedar are cheap and plentiful. Don't miss the shoreline towns, particularly Guilford and Madison, they're absolutely what you think of when you think of New England. The town of Mystic is obviously adorable with some amazing restaurants. We're creeping into farmer's market season and if you ever get a Sunday off, go to the Coventry farmer's market, it's worth the drive. Enjoy New Haven! It has a lot to offer.

Welcome to Connecticut!! I was born and raised about an hour away from New Haven. Yale campus is beautiful. You are so right when you stated it feels like Hogwart. Hope you will find your next 4yrs here to be enjoyable and memorable. Enjoy the change of seasons. Fall is beautiful. Winter will take some getting use to you will either love it or hate it. Two of my favorite coffee spots in New Haven are Common Grounds and Book Trader Cafe. Congrats again on your residency at Yale!

Welcome man! I am just finishing my Pediatric Dental residency at Yale. It's a great place to be! We work a fair amount with the anesthesia teams in the Children's OR. Great attendings there to be sure. Don't forget to try the Pizza. One 6 Three is my favorite spot!

Ironically I just moved from CT to Augusta for the summer! Best of luck in this new chapter and if you have a chance I recommend checking out Devil’s Hopyard State Park, Mystic, and a Bridgeport Islanders game once hockey is back in season! (For coffee, if you’re ever near New Canaan try Zumbach’s!!)

Welcome to anesthesia man, I'm a new attending at Brown next door over in RI and love every day of it. You're gonna love New England, especially in the fall, make sure to travel up to Vermont New Hampshire Maine etc as well. If you wanna breeze through residency, go over the Stanford CA1 guide during intern year know it cold, and then CA1 year, grind truelearn, make some anki for it and you will absolutely crush the ITEs

both are pretty great! i'd say first go with the program your school provides (if they do) and then after that is personal preference. I have heard amazing reviews from both and I tried both with negligible difference tbh and I scored fairly well on shelfs

I don’t know why residents complain about low pay. You don’t hear student nurse anesthetists complaining- they get paid $0 during their 3yr residency period. I don’t wanna hear residents complaining about low pay when SRNAs don’t get paid at all. It’s annoying imo
@rlubinga6 ай бұрын
This is a false equivalency because resident physicians are not the same as student nurse anesthetists who are still in school. A better comparison to SNRAs would be medical students who are also not getting paid during rotations because they are students learning.
@queenkami995 ай бұрын
@@rlubingaI think they said that because in CRNA school you are prohibited from working. Some schools make you physically sign a contract that state you can’t be employed. So that’s 3 years where you’re not earning money. Versus in medical school and nursing school you can still work if your actually wanted to
