Proud owner of a 595 Competizione here, it's amazing! The sound it makes is all that counts for me, I daily drive it and it really turns heads in busy streets. Everyone looks at it like 'how is that tiny car making that much noise'. I have a stage 1 tune, Akrapovič exhaust with electrical valves and it's a blast. I've fallen in love with the car in just 2 days of owning it, probably gonna keep it for a long time

In the past 25 years I've owned a lot of powerfull Italian cars with 5 cylinders (Fiat Coupé Turbo), 6 cylinders (Alfa 147 GTA) and even V8 (Ferrari 355 Spider, Maserati Quattroporte Sport GT and Maserati Grancabrio MC). All incredible cars but since we moved to the northern lake area of Italy, none of these cars would really suit me on the winding mountain roads. Therefore, I bought my self a 595C Competizione with performance package (mechanical slip diff). As you've already pointed out, there are some amazing looking aspects like the steering wheel, the sabelt seats in alcantara, leather and carbon and the leaver in aluminium, in fact all the items you touch. All the other items are really crap, with even the 500-badge on the dashboard panel. For me this was just an opportunity to get these others items at the same quality level. So all plastics, both on the inside and the outside, have been replaced / covered with carbon fiber, leather and alcantara. The result you can see on my video : kzbin.info/www/bejne/rWW4pmyHlL-kn5o. Afterwards, I changed the wheels (OZ Ultraleggera 18 inch in the same colour as the cars) and added some colour (stickers and paint). Soon I will bring out a new video with the final result. All in all, this cars is incredible fun to drive, with very limited consumption (between 7 and 9 liters each 100 km), limited road taxe and limited service costs. And ... very important : now I don't have to worry any more when entering a narrow street or car park !!!

Man I can Imagine this car would be a nightmare to live with in many ways... But it easily has its innocence and is so easily forgiven due to those looks and that Monza exhaust 😍

Anyone who dislikes Abarths needs their head checked. You don't buy an Abarth if you're concerned by interior quality/"girls car"/"just a fiat", you buy it for fun factor, because that's all that matters with Abarths.

I drive a Z4 2.5 and my daily is a 320d. My wife drives an Abarth 2016, in bi-tone black and gray which is beautiful. Our “Abby”, yes the car has a name, is equipped with a stage1 kit, offering us 170+ hp. To me it does not feel as if my wife punishes me when she asks me to take her car for one day... Greetings from Marc, Belgium.

I’m really keen to follow this series Joel. I’m aware that there are many variations of the Abarth 500, could you summarise them if you get chance, please? Especially the ones with the more exotic marque “collaborations”. I always felt these would be an absolute scream to drive!

Nice video. We've got a 2017 595c Competizione as a 2nd car (2019 Tiguan R-Line Tech 230ps is the main for the kids and dogs) and it's such a laugh! If I were to offer any advice to anyone who wants to get an Abarth, do it. If you can get the Monza exhaust (as per this vid) that's a bonus but the first thing to buy is a decent alarm system. They only have an immobiliser from factory. Naughty people can break in and have silence whilst they nick your car whilst doing their trickery via the OBD port.

I'd love to see an overview of the specs, driving feel, and how practical the Abarth is - especially compared to your Z4. Maybe it's a suitable daily? Bonus; would you ever consider getting your Z4 done in that absolutely stunning podium blue? Looking forward to the next vid, this will be an exciting week!

Always wanted one of these but I test drove a Competizione spec model at the start of the year and came away feeling pretty disappointed . The sound was fantastic but everything else was a bit of a let-down, which is a shame because I still really want to like them!

@throwyourbike4 жыл бұрын
@@tanglewood777 The whole experience was a bit underwhelming. I think I’m used to cars with a bit more grunt. It just felt like what it is, a small engine with a turbo strapped to it. Still a very cool car but I just didn’t click with it.

@Roadwarrior924 жыл бұрын
Why?
@MJWhelan14 жыл бұрын
J Richie I felt it had a lot of understeer and generally handled poorly, but possibly I am unintentionally being biased given all but 1 other car I’ve owned have been rwd and handled beautifully?!?! It is also a very noisy car, not in a good way, lots of cheap plastic squeaks in normal driving, huge amount of road noise (I changed 3 sets of premium tyres to see if it could be improved), I say this after experiencing using an MX5 as a daily. If you’re going to doing any sort of regular commute of about 40mins+ each way you’ll get very irritated by all of the noises and cheap plastic squeaks and then when you go out to enjoy the car it doesn’t handle well and doesn’t put the power down well either... so was always left disappointed when I truly love the look and the sound it makes (when not being driven)!
