Why don't you warranty the boots after a season? Had a pair of DC Judges last season, the sole blow out and DC not only warranties me the boot but gave me extra money towards another pair this season. I rode all season on the Judges before the died. I picked up the Travis rice pro DC boot with the warranty at the start of this season. I think angry snowboard has a video on boot warranties or head to your local shop and speak with then.
