Nice to see you use the CCD sensor for monochrome photos, because everybody talks about the CCD colours, but I think where the CCD sensors shine is in the transitions between light and dark. They behave more film like in that area in my humble opinion.

Does your HM16-32 film back really work on your new H3D body? To my knowledge and with my own H3D bodies it doesn't work and shows "back not compatible" when attached unless your H3D has the "H2 Upgrade"-Firmware. That's why I personally had to add a H2 body and a CFH digital back for updating the firmware to use HCD lenses and use it additionally fully digitally.

As a Hasselblad user, I loved this video! I would just like to correct one thing: while it’s true that the H series has been discontinued, I have got written ensurances by Hasselblad itself that the service is continuing for years to come. My local Hasselblad representative is still offering service for H1! And otherwise, all digital backs of the H series are also serviced by the Danish company hasselbladrepair, founded by former Hasselblad technicians. So, if things go south with your Hasselblad H there is still plenty of possibilities. Only caveat: I am based in Europe (Italy and Austria), I don’t know whether the situation could be more complicated in North America or Australia…

The photos look really nice, although your photos always look nice on KZbin even when you're shooting with some kack Soviet camera. But I'll bet models are more impressed by a camera that says "Hasselblad" on it than by one that says "Kneb" 😹 I'm not sold on the superiority of CCD, though. I still use one CCD camera, but last summer I did a side-by-side series with it vs. a more recent CMOS camera; the images did look different from each other, but one wasn't better than the other, and it was pretty easy to edit the CMOS files to look nearly identical to the CCD files. (MisterLeica CCD preset, anyone?) I suspect this is another case like the one of using a monochrome camera vs. shooting with an RGB camera and converting the files to monochrome; the people who love their monochrome (or CCD) cameras are positive they can see a difference, but nobody else can see it because we don't believe hard enough...

80MP CCD Phase One backs looked nice - but still expensive! Also 50-400 ISO is the useable range at 80MP - not suited to low light. Slow and heavy compared with light fast highly integrated modern systems.

Thanks for sharing! Yes mine is 50-200 but I’m making it work well for me and worth the weight.

€38, 000 at the time of release. WOW. I wonder what the Hasselblad H6D 100 is going for these days?
@MattOsborne-MrLeicaCom4 ай бұрын
I think the H6D-100c was similar when released (don't quote me on that!) ..I remember just 50MP backs being like 11K+
@---us7qf4 ай бұрын
@@MattOsborne-MrLeicaCom GOODNESS! Well, if the screen on the H6D-100C is anything like the X2D back screen, and the UI anywhere as smooth, with the lenses top notch, I'd say that it should be an interesting buy, now that the line is discontinued. My only worry, is that you can no longer get them serviced by Hasselblad.

Why not a H6D 50C ?

Price difference is huge! It's more for fun than for paying clients. (39MP is also plenty for me)

No one in 2024: Upgrading from my H2D to a H3D seems like a sensible idea. Matt: Hold my camera. Also no one: hold my Hasselblad H3D with manual focus telelens one handed while holding a reflector in the other hand 😂 Definitely fantastic photos Matt but I guess you know that already !
@MattOsborne-MrLeicaCom4 ай бұрын
Haha, one handed with MF & 120 macro at 1/125 was stretching it haha. Slightly missed focus as a result (that lens had no AF so was rocking body to focus like with M3 at 0.7m).

I’ve own one since 2016 of some sort so I know what I’m getting into. Even if I only use it with a film back it’s a keeper. Stop by in 12 months to check!

The only reason that has kept me from buying such a camera - it is ridiculously ugly (for my eyes). And haptics as well the look of a camera are decisive for me… but as a Hasselblad user -500 series- I am thinking of getting a digital back for them. So I can use film as well as a digital sensor…
