My New Farm Truck/ Mini Suzuki 4x4

Used for: EVERYTHING...lol. Farming, Fishing, Work Trucks, Construction, Beer Trucks, and anything else you can think of. They are called "Keitora's" in Japan. Kei (pronounced "Kay" ) - Keijidosha (660cc or less) and "tora" (pronounced "Torah") - basically shortened for "truck". My father-in-law drives ones to his business every day.

Ninety-nine percent of Japanese farmers have "Kei trucks". Light trucks are called "kei-tora" for short in Japan. Fishermen also have Kei trucks. Kei trucks still support the Japanese economy. It is funny to see videos of that Kei truck being customized in various ways in the U.S., and I am impressed by the idea. from Japan.😄

Such a smart move getting that truck. Here in Italy, they are all over the place, and the smaller ones with only 3 wheels haha. Many Italians own homes with some land and they use the truck to get around the property. I have neighbors who use theirs to move crates of olives or grapes during harvest, firewood for storage for winter, everything pretty much. I know you will love it.

I love these trucks. It was the norm on the island of Okinawa, Japan where we lived back in 1978. When I first arrived to the island I thought they were so strange looking! But they are really the perfect size for so many things that you do on the farm! You're gonna love this little truck! Always!

We have these in the Philippines imported from Japan but because right hand drive vehicles are illegal, these are converted to left hand drive before you can legally sell it or operate it. I owned one for 7 years before coming over to the US. Its easy to fix and parts are cheap.

Really cool, and $5K to $8K is a nice price range for a vehicle. I've watched one or two videos about how these trucks are used in Japan; they sized the beds to exactly fit a standard type of crate used to haul produce, and made them very efficient and affordable for small farms. One has to expect that they are made with Japanese quality, too.

Took a Suzuki van like that right round Australia in the 80s, , no troubles , off road rough road, dirt road. You will love it. You will won't blow that engine up, as long as you service it.

Your need for one resonates for me well. I purchased 34 acres and need a utility vehicle. The Japanese Mini Trucks really are the superior utility vehicle and best value for what they can do. I've been thinking of getting a Suzuki Carry and I learned a few things in this video that help me understand why it is the right choice.

I gown up in Japan as farmer. owned those mini truck. they are pretty good, some of them even have tilt able dump truck bed. I like them because first gear is very low, you can just pop the clutch engine will not stall. they also make mini-van version of those truck ( fully enclosed ) , they are useful as well.

You’ll be very surprised, these things are unstoppable off road. Toyo Open country make the right size too. Super light weight and 5ft wide, your going to loose a wrangler pretty quick through the trees.

Canada here, easy tip for dealing with kilometers on the speedo. Take first number and times by 6. 50=30mph 5x6. 90km = 54 mph 9x6, 100=60mph 10x6. Good job on not buying a side by side, this will be way better.

I lived in Japan for about 7 years total, and those trucks were used for mostly city delivery, They were very versitile, and would haul about anything you could load on it and tie down. They seldom exceeded about 40 kph or 25 mph. If you got 20,000k on the odometer the truck has about 12,500 miles on it. Keep it greased, and oil changed and transmission and rear end lubed and you should be good to go. A much better value than a sxside. A real work horse so to speak. It does have side vents, and hood vents which will keep you cool in the summer, so enjoy the good life. PS. Roll the windows up if it rains. LOL

I've lived in Tokyo Japan for 32+ years. I've owned a "Kei" (pronounced "kay") Truck or van for about 25 years. They are great. I have a Subaru, but I don't do much off-road, but in the snow the engine being in the rear is great. I drive my Kei van on the expressway all the time, but I've found a limit of about 3 hours is all you want to travel. Getting one makes sense, they get great gas mileage and a very reliable. Shifting with your left hand takes a bit to get used to, but you will get used to it. Cheers from Tokyo!

I am an American retired in the Philippines. These Kei trucks and vans are extremely common here and they are referred to as surplus vehicles here. I have the Suzuki DA64V which is a van with AT, 4WD, 660 cc turbo motor, and air conditioning. I am pretty happy with mine for city driving here. For price comparison I paid $4500 for mine last year, and it is a few years newer than the trucks you have in the video. Suzukis have better seating for a larger westerner.

I had a few mini trucks, they are great for a farm. But keep them on road or light trail. They dont have great travel and gets high centered easily. But in fields and roads there great for price

Give it time it's a dependable workhorse. I used to drive one for security patrols at Kings Island in Ohio. 45 acre amusement park and it did so many things and went all over. If you notice how Justin Rhoades times thing all the time well he would be the first to tell you this is a time saver for just about all projects and chores. Enjoy happy for you.
