I have been on the hunt for a quiet air pump to run my nano and 10 gallon fish tanks. Until now, I had settled on the Tetra 10 Air Pump. I finally decided to try this USB Nano Air Pump from Aquarium Co-Op and I instantly fell in love with it!

I wanted to order one from aquarium co op and of course they were sold out. I bought one off amazon. It’s true, and the reason I bought it is because it’s silent. Virtually no motor noise. The one I ordered did come with a check valve and the tubing was a very nice soft silicone instead of the vinyl. There are cons. It also came with a suction cup so you can stick it to the side of your tank. Throw that piece of crap in the garbage. No matter how wet or clean the surface, in about 20 minutes that thing pops loose and the motor drops to the floor and pulls the air stone right out of the tank. I know you said you like the USB, I’m not a huge fan. It’s probably good for transport but I don’t have extra usb plugs just laying around the house. Also, the power cord on it is only about 2 feet long, you’d better make sure your tubing is longer then the power cord for it to reach from your outlet. Nevertheless, if you’re tired of that hum these are silent and more powerful then I thought they’d be. Time will tell if they are built to last more then 6 months. Don’t throw away your old air pumps just yet.

The Co-op one doesn't come with a suction cup, but does come with a power plug. The power cord can also be an issue, but I have power strips really close to all of my tanks, and so I actually have only used about half of the cord on my 75, for my shrimp tank I'm using about 6 inches of it! Haha

If you need a longer USB power cable, you can get various lengths on eBay. A 10' USB power cable is $2-$3.

Yesterday I purchased 3 of these air pumps and 3 of their heaters with the adjustable temperature control on the cord rather than on the part that heats which is in the tank. I have 4 tanks in my bedroom, but the only one I don’t find noisy is the Fluval Flex 9 gallon, which is on my nightstand.

I use an Eheim Air 100 (claims it pumps 100 litres per hour) and run 4 things on it; two wooden airstones for tiniest bubbles because it looks cool, the eheim air diffuser that came with the pump and a bubbling air hose in my artemia bottle. I'd like to give this nano air pump a try, yet Im in the Netherlands so I'd have to find a similar product. Unfortunately, Amazon and eBay are *extremely* limited outside US. Or should I say, extremely limited to US resellers...

@@DilettanteCulture I deleted my original comment because it said something really rude that I didn't even type. Very odd! But when I just went to delete it everything looked fine. So strange. I deleted it anyway. I put a small hand towel (folded up) under my pump and that will stop any kind of noises.

I picked one up as an emergency pump. I have a couple of those USB battery packs and thought it might be decent enough to work temporarily. That little thing pushes more air than the main pump running my tank! Mine will push air through the airstone at the bottom of my tank where the water pressure is greatest, and with a T-connector it will run 2 sponge filters. I've got two more on order already. Amazing little product. eBay has them in 6 different colors too. Mine's the black one.

That nano pump, same as you
@CoroaEntertainment
@CoroaEntertainment 4 жыл бұрын
4:05 Imo, it's not really the size of the tank that's the issue, it's how deep the airstone/filter can be placed before the water pressure becomes too much for this pump to handle. Example, the pump will have a much easier time working with a 30gal low profile tank that is only 10-12" deep, vs a traditional 18" deep tank.
