I just sold my 4 iq3000 118's and iQ 112' and it was because I never used it. The little system was versatile but I got injured so at 67 I was told to stop doing Sound and DJ'ing. I still have my iP3000's in my living room with all my stuff hooked into those for jamming with friends and for entertainment. There is a pair of the iX1000 115's with Midas in the basement that I have yet to fire up. Like you I started way back in the early seventies with Altec, JBL, Gauss and EV. I can recone all of these as well. I started using Turbosound back in the mid eighties. Cheers

@@virgilgray please understand, all you actually heard was the quality of Your headphones. It is impossible, I repeat, Impossible to hear the quality of any speaker or system that you are viewing on KZbin or any other recorded format. Even if you have a live concert DVD, you are not hearing the system that was at that show. You are hearing a mix from the board being played back through your system. The only way to sample a speaker is to hear it live, in person. That's why he said go see it for yourself. Sweetwater sound has these in house. You can hear them there.

Before I got my ZLX's I considered buying them, because they really seemed to be like the EV version of powered speakers in England. They are all over the place over there. I really like how they look as well, very well built. Behringer is benefitting as well because they are both under the same umbrella.

I work in a venue and am looking at system design to make things more user friendly and all round better experience. I am planning on installing an XR18 in 2 of the main event spaces, as the mixer, I would then mount a Tablet on the wall with Bitfocus Companion on it as buttons for basic control (of both sound system and projector). What I need is a way to send feeds to all the different rooms, but there isn't much budget cause it's a church (hence why I'm pricing XR18's and not X32 Racks), I was planning on using P16's with small cheap speakers, but this might be a better quality option to go for. I would probably need 4 of these to be in each of the small rooms, then I would use a P16 to send to the main rooms.

Does the db limiter work for overall volume? For example, some venues have noise ordinances and tell us we have to stay under 100 db all night, which is hard when you start to get hyped. If so, is it an awkward ceiling or is it a smooth roll off? Thanks.

Let me just add this. Before any of you ask, "How's the low end?", It is an 8in speaker. There is very little to no low-end. The speaker sounds awesome. But you will need a subwoofer. I don't understand why some of you think that just 2 speakers will give you a full range sound regardless of manufacturer. That is all.

I installed a pair of the IQ 15s in a 400 seat sanctuary. We also used a pair of iNSPIRE iP82 passive speakers as fills for the back and I can say in my opinion they stomp many other speakers in their respective price ranges. The sound quality and clarity of these speakers is amazing however they do not handle bass very well so you really need to pull the bass out of them and pair them with subs if you’re going to be playing dance music. I play hard techno and psytrance and they are amazing for the mids and highs. My 12’s have a far greater output than pretty much any 15 inch powered speaker from RCF or EV in the same price range.

I just shipped them to qsc last week to get fixed but i am honestly getting rid of them and want to switch up to another brand . My budget is $2000 I have heard the turbosound before and l love the clean sound . Are they great as durable and reliable ? I’ve used these as front fills at concerts for 1000 + people.

So at 2500 watts and less than half the price, do these really compare to a VRX932LAP.....in high quality sound?

I want speakers I can fly that are small, high quality and very very powerful. Is this it?
@KAYBE_CO
@KAYBE_CO 4 жыл бұрын
The vrx932la goes about 2-3 times as loud as these. Remember, there's a great difference between line array(constant curvature) and point source. The vrx also costs way more. These can however go very loud for the size. You can run small events with these as mains(with subs), but these also have other purposes. Like being used as monitors, front fills or even delay units. The better unit to compare to the vrx is going to be the berlin 12' from turbosound.

Tech you hit the nail on the head. The ip8 and VRX isn’t an apples to apples comparison.

@@KAYBE_CO Thanks. I guess I don't understand the difference which is constant curvature. I look at decibels and wattage and then wonder how could there be that much difference.
@KAYBE_CO
@KAYBE_CO 4 жыл бұрын
@@bill.22 wattage comes into play with the very very expensive line array boxes, where you need every bit of power you can squeeze out of a box. In powered consumer speaker market power means absolutely nothing. Some manufacturers also have some insane wattage claims, that are very wrong.

How do you compare with qsc?
@runchunesound6546
@runchunesound6546 4 жыл бұрын
I been saying this for years about running extentions all over the place for powered speakers, that they should have a power bar or an outlet(powercon) connected to the box, good thing some speaker giant got the memo, now hopefully we get copycats for other brands

Has anyone come across fakes? They brought it to me for repair and I found a strange thing - the speaker cones fell apart as if they were made of toilet paper! They don't look like the ones you see in ads for sale. I took photos and videos. Respond, who else came across IQ8 with problematic speakers!

You're 100% wrong my black brother... sigh. Located in Kidderminster, Worcestershire, UK, the company was founded in 1974 by brothers Terence and Phillip Clarke. It developed a number of new types of equipment in the audio field, winning a Queen's Awards for Enterprise in 1986. It is now owned by Music Tribe. I cannot recommend you to anyone... Please go learn about pro audio... do some basic courses, buy the Yamaha Sound Bible... Come on now!!!
