I think you need to measure according to the height of their heads too Claire, as Lala demonstrated they can rotate their heads to fit through.

Yes. It’s better to have very small gaps like General’s fence or even glass doors like in the kitchen. If the bars are close to the size the cat’s heads, they will figure out how to get through and might even get stuck!! Not too safe.

They can move their heads sideways and get out just like what Lulu did so they can all get out of the fence if the gaps are made wider.

I think that General and NaNa are going to be the two to watch. They’re both able to get in and out of narrow bars. All of the cats are so adorable.

DD is such a calm and placid cat, basic problem solving approach: sit and purr until problem goes away. LuLu - nothing can prevent LuLu reaching snacks, a very focused cat.

Very cute video proving cats are liquid! Dear Claire, I wouldn't feel safe with such larger gaps: actually, 4.5 cm is a better option. 5 is already pretty large for Dodo, Toto, Nana, Lala, General and maybe TT to get their heads stuck and/or escape altogether, also considering it was cardboard: they can just rotate their heads and get them through the bars. (And will efficiently keep Largehead away! ❤)
