It's a flood car the piston rings/cylinders and crank bearings are rusted from the water and locked up. It also explains why the interior was so moldy including the trunk thats higher than the floorboards. Transmission and differential may have water in them as well.

I'd swap the motor.. and interior. This one has the better options, and a good title. You can still part out the other, and get most of your money back. And even tear down the locked motor, and freshen it up. Not too expensive. Spare motor is always nice to have around. 🙂

Every car that comes into our shop with a “locked up” engine, the first thing I do is take the belt off. I’ve had SO many just have a locked up compressor or other accessory. I’ve even bought 3 or 4 cars over the years that just ended up needing a compressor or alternator or tensioner

Magnetic spark plug sockets are nice to have and a bore scope can be very handy. Sometimes you just need to see what cylinder walls or valves look like. Before i broke down and bough magnetic sockets i uses the coils to pull the plugs out and stuck them in the end to start the plugs. I reccommen at least an dual lens scope, a tripple lens would be nicer amd i went with teslong. The picture quality is pretty good

Pulling the interior out is easy as hell, I've done it twice on H3s I've owned, 100% worth it after sunroof issues! Any questions about H3s let me know!

Yeah that much water in the pan, & after everything else, pretty sure your right that motor is scrap. Best of luck in whatever direction you go brotha.

the hummer with the bad motor actually looks like it has a lift on it... maybe its just a optical illusion,, You have enough parts to make a good one tho and have spare parts,, its more work but... Hope you guys had a great weekend and Happy holidays to ya and the family

Swap it for an LS< they put LS engines in some of them, and the parts to do it could be found from any H3/Envoy/Rainier, just find an engine that was pre-DOD/AFM and you'll be in love with it all over again!

Before putting penitrating oil I would have checked and see if there was any water on top of the pistons cuz water would keep oil from even reaching pistons

Yeah they are a 3.5 liter in 2006 and then switched to a 3.7 for 07 and up. They make one with the 5.3 as well. It isn't the same as the trailblazer, those have a 4.2

Most H3s are 5 bangers with double counter rotating balance shafts with the exception of the H3 Alphas that are 5.3L V8. The Trailblazers are 6 bangers that are naturally balanced. No need for balance shafts.
