I had some people request to see the New Idea Supersheller in action. As i said in my last video, my neighbors were interested in using my sheller to harvest 30 or so acres of corn on a farm they rent. They came to pick up the supersheller about an hour after I made my last video. In this video, you'll see one of my neighbors pulling the supersheller behind a JD 4020 tractor.

Thank you for your kind words, Matthew. I agree that the old stuff was really something special. How many machines made today will last as long something like this did? I am perfectly happy with my older equipment and at least it CAN be worked on. I'll keep my old stuff going as long as I possibly can. The old supersheller does put out nice clean corn.

@@pagrainfarmer The answer to your question is nothing. All these companies now a days wants you to keep buying new and the parts are getting harder and harder to find. There are just a few places that we can even get stuff for our older equipment unfortunately. I am not looking forward to the day when parts are virtually impossible or just not able to be found at all.

Charlie we had one just like that. That's what we used for many years was a two row picker and also a two-row picker with a sheller. I sold Dad's picker sheller maybe a dozen years ago to a man that was going to use it for his food plots. whatever the deer didn't eat he would picker shell later.

If I keep using mine to do corn I've thought about getting a wagon with an auger like setup for fertilizer and use it to move the corn to a truck. That way if it's muddy you can keep the wagon lighter so you can keep going and using a truck is faster to move it to the mill for storage.

Never had a Super Sheller but we do have a 324 picker that we pull with one of our 4020s. Usually the powershift one if it’s available. It’s well used and needs elevator paddles something fierce. It’d be nice if we had a 325 though as we currently pick narrow rows with the 324 wide row picker. It’s probably been 30 years since my family raised any corn on 40” rows. They used to run new idea mounted pickers on a Farmall 560 before the pull type one came around. I would’ve liked to see that back in the day.

That's my neighbor's wagon, of course. I have 2 gravity wagons, too, but mine are J & M, which were pretty common around here. Their wagons wagons have a capacity of around 200 bushels, while my old J & M's hold about 140 bu. My Dad bought them around 1970, so they got some years on them. Thanks for watching and commenting.

Question would be, even when dry, how much corn is going out the back end or not being grabbed by the rollers with 50 year old technology?

There was never a real need for the super sheller. I have the smaller sheller and traveling at around 5 miles per hour with 250 bushels per acre it handles it just fine. I also use the same ( but another unit ) to shell out my corn crib. Heres a link to that video. kzbin.info/www/bejne/e3a5p593Zbl2nsU It can do 1200 bushels per hour if you can get the corn to it. I dont even try that. Maybe 500 bushels per hour.
