What a great collection of tractors you have put together.i had several uncles that dairy farmed in upstate New York (finger lakes area) and they had several Oliver's. I worked many summers with them, and they were the first tractors I ever drove. Oliver's have a special place in my heart. I'm 74, and now reside in California. I love your videos, they bring back great memories. God bless you and you our family as you continue to work the land... Gordon

Did you try Maibach Tractor in Ohio.? They are a pretty big dealer and handle MF. Also wonder if there’s a salvage yard that has something.
@TAHDAHFarm25 күн бұрын
It looks like my MF-970 might be down for the count. The bottom roller shive that drives the pitman arm has a crack in it. Part is no longer available. At this point, my only hope is to get it off the roller and see if the local machine shop can rebuild it. Or, machine a new one. I don't have a local dealer for this hybine, and the dealer I talked to was not much help.

I will try them. The dealer I was talking to was going to look at some salvage yards, but I never heard from him, and they will not return my calls.

They didn't have anything. They sent me to a salvage yard in Canada as a last-ditch effort. They didn't have anything either. We'll have to see what a machine shop can do.

Great little video & hats off to Joe. My turn now to refurb a 53 Ford NAA (Jubilee) that I just trailered from the Canadian Rockies over here to Cereal Country in the province of Saskatchewan fair bit north of North Dakota. There is a really pristine gas 88 close by for sale around $1200.00 US , really clean machine so we shall see. All the best in your Semi Retirement & Thank You for a really informative & detailed run down on your special "Princess".

Mine is an 8.2L Detroit Diesel that was factory installed. They had other options. I have the turbocharged one which does have some issues compared to the N/A ones but overall they’re solid. I do have an Eaton 10 speed and an air compressor as well due to that but the same Lucas Gerling hydraulic brakes.

Cool idea. Love the sound of the engine with the unmistakable gear whine from that era. Reminds me of the ‘88’s I grew up with. Pretty countryside. No AC needed.
@pagrainfarmerАй бұрын
It was a picture-perfect day. Yeah, the Olivers definitely had a gear whine. I know my Olivers so well that I could be blindfolded and probably tell you what gear I'm in just by the sound.

My Auction lots are starting to show up on Aumann's Website. If you know anyone looking for some super nice restored tractors or any in their work clothes, spread the word. There are combines, balers, rakes, plows and much more that doesn't show yet.

What happened to Tri-State Oliver Club???
@pagrainfarmerАй бұрын
That club is about 2 hours away from us, which is kind of impractical for meetings and events. I wish it were closer. My friends wouldn't haul their tractors that far for a ride/parade or anything.

That was totally awesome Charlie, it seems if the guys stay together as group with no far distances between some tractors as the previous one
@pagrainfarmerАй бұрын
That was something we made a conscious effort to do. If we stay relatively close together, we stand less of a chance of having an impatient car or pickup truck getting into the middle of our line when they try to pass us. However, most people were courteous.

Mrs. Soybean Farmer here, my sweet Jim passed away after a long battle with lung cancer, I don't know his password to his channel but he enjoyed making these videos with his cousin Scott who was killed in May so now they are in heaven together farming Gods garden, blessings to each and everyone of you who made his life a better one
@pagrainfarmerАй бұрын
Jim was a wonderful man and a great friend to me. We spoke frequently on the phone. He was a fine example of what it means to be a Christian, and I feel privileged to have known him and to have called him my friend and brother in Christ. Even though there will be nothing added to his channel, I hope that his channel remains up on KZbin because I often go back and look at his older videos and remember better times. If there's a farm in Heaven, rest assured that Cousin Scott is planting something and Jim is running the combine. They will both be missed. May God bless and comfort you.

I grew up with Olivers. Had an LP Super 77, Super 66. We also had a regular 66, with the mechanical lift, no hydraulics. All good metal, just missing the side vent panels. Lot of dust sometimes while cultivating due to the cultivators mounted in front you. Later, a 770, 1800, and 1850. All solid tractors.

They are kinda rare. They were primarily made for the seed corn industry, as they tend not to crack the kernels like combines often do. They are gentle-er on the seed corn.

@hairymanonetwoАй бұрын
Other then for the three row picker I never understood why they made a super sheller. I still use the smaller basic sheller.......and the yields going through it are around 250 bushels per acre. The super sheller was too heavy for the gathering unit on the 323 picker. But many farmers were talked into buying the super sheller.
