It’s fun to play around with pedal order. Most people say put the wah or auto-wah before the dirt pedal(s). But while I like it there, I also like it the other way around. So my Auto-Wah/envelope filter sits between 2 distortion pedals, so I can do it either way, or both. If I only had one dirt pedal I’m not sure where I’d put it, as I like both.

Nice board mate, very professional, when I was in a gigging band I had all my pedals loose in an old tape cassete case covered in band stickers, wired with a daisy chain. I'd put the crybaby out to the side, and had two fuzz pedals for my gain stages lol, I had no idea what I was doing, but it made one hell of a racket! Feedback for days through my Gretsch hahaha!

Nice build! The EQ is a very underused and underrated pedal, it is like the Swiss Army Knife/Multitool of guitar pedals.
@Haroun-El-Poussah2 ай бұрын
Nope, it's the MAIN tool for the professional musician, in fact, your main tool is to use double EQ, one is pre-preamp/saturations, the other is post-preamp, first place in your effects loop... I actually consider that what you need is at least a 4 xhannels tube preamp with ideally, a 2x30 bands programmable analog graphic EQ like the KN3600. Billy Gibbons used two (2U) Digitech MEQ28 with his Marshall JMP-1 preamp while touring. Well, two 2U racks are a bit cumbersome, moreover, you need to upgrade the OpAmps into the MEQ28, replacing the TL072 by Burr Browns used by Neve, or at least NE5532. With the pre-EQ, you shape the colour of your distortion, and also your gain too: when you use it with the preamp's distortion channel, well, a studio EQ can insanely overdrive the input tube. When it comes to the post EQ... Oh, you know, you may have a flattering sound when you play alone and... never noticed how later it will suck when playing with the band?

I would put the Eventide AND the graphic EQ in the loop. If you're using the EQ for volume boost, it'll work with the Revv pedal and a clean channel, but if using a dirty amp channel, it'll be a gain boost, not really volume.

No! No! No! Do NOT daisy-chain a rig like that. Just.... don't! I learned this the hard way in the 80's and 90's so try to preach the error of my ways to others that follow! Indeed it MIGHT likely sound perfect in your bedroom and at rehearsal etc... Great you think! And it works at the next few gigs just fine. But then, usually at a gig that is maybe further away or more a important or prestigious one Sod's Law will apply and it'll suddenly be noisy as hell and sound like a hurricane competing with a taxiing Jumbo Jet! Haha. Ok, if ALL you are using is say a distortion and an overdrive or two then yes you can get away with daisy chaining. But mix those with modulation? Nope. Need isolated power. Plus actual top of the range iso power WILL make your rig sound much better.

I've been watching the channel for a few years and always think of you as a citizen journalist. Someone was complaining on fb about the channel, and I asked them why. They had a story about Fricker and about you taking down videos and things, a story of you lacking integrity. I want to know more, but that's just it: without the video in question, I can't prove them OR you right. Which means I have to err on the side of caution and consider you not credible now. If you did some kind of explanation instead of sweeping it all under the rug, this story might die. As it stands, right now I can't trust you.

@ A large, credible channel. “Blocked him so hard,” they said. I said I like him, he’s done a lot of good work, and they replied “You’re kidding right?” So I said enlightened me. Then came the story about some feud with Glen Fricker and covering it up by erasing the related videos, that’s all I know. Like I said though, big trustworthy channel said this.
@KDH2 ай бұрын
Ok sure. 5 years ago my 3rd or 4th video I ever made was a video critical of Glenn Fricker. As it was one of my first videos, it would not be up to my standards today. some of it wasn’t as accurate as it should have been (although I will say it did contain valid criticism on things such as lack of disclosure on sponsored videos) See I was entirely new to the whole video thing and didn’t know it was possible to ask for comment on stories. That’s something I do now and have done for years. But I didn’t then. Anyway it really didn’t get a whole lot of views relative to today. It got somewhere around 10K views from memory. Around the time the Chapman video blew up I got talking to Henning Pauly and he put me in touch with Glenn Fricker. We had a call and he corrected me on the things I got wrong and also listened to my concern’s regarding the lack of disclosure regarding sponsored videos. I actually found him to be quite pleasant and have since met him in person at the last two Namm shows and chatted several times. Not sure where the idea of a feud came from. Anyway, after the chappers video (if you’re not aware of the full story I recommend Dovydas video on it) I pulled my videos off KZbin. Not just the chapman video but the Fricker video too. So the video was already down and then Dovydas encouraged me to republish the Chapman one which I did. I didn’t bother with the Fricker one as it seemed like everything was resolved (5 YEARS AGO) and since then my standards for videos have gone up significantly. If you want a source to check this story ask Henning Pauly: Now I must ask. You’ve seen my videos and made up your own mind on their credibility. I would ask that you judge the credibility of my work based off what you’ve seen. it seems rather strange that you would completely change your mind based off one inaccurate story backed up with no evidence. What “credible” channel told you this? I can assure you that they aren’t as credible as you think

If I didn’t already respect your integrity I might have been less charitable but would still have been forced to remain agnostic without more information. Your clarification here is typical of that very integrity I’ve seen you exhibit. All I will say is there is a pair of 60-cycle humbugs who are using the fact the Fricker vid is still gone, as a red herring to steer people away from your perfectly credible work.
