Very touching, most precisely; the forest spirit plot. It reminds me of the magical worlds I visit when I experience lucid dreaming, and I turn my most scary nightmares into moments of spiritual awakening.

RSS is a WONDERFUL standard, and podcasting is such a great way to use it! If you're looking for a feed reader, inoreader is how I consume 100 articles a day without going insane, it's got REALLY great granular filters. If you're looking for a podcatcher, Pocket Casts is my favourite, has been for many years. Dedicated podcatcher apps provide a much better experience than spotify, because they're tailored to podcasts. Automatic silence removal is a feature spotify doesn't have, for example. If you're looking to set up your own podcast feed, Soundcloud provides a free way to do that (dig into the settings hard enough!) but I am happy with Spreaker.com for my hosting. Of course, you can do it programmatically for free with a static site generator and github pages - it's easy build your own RSS xml, and there's libraries for every language! As you would expect, rust has you covered: lib.rs/crates/rss

@@NoBoilerplate Thanks for all the info! When using new things, I usually start by using something popular to then go and later find what suits me best, usually something more niche or sometimes self-written. This will be a very interesting dive!

Huge influence on my writing for this show, certainly. Sprinkle in Welcome To Night Vale, Within The Wires, Modem Prometheus (my friend Neil's writing on that is amazing) and the million World of Darkness games I've played over the years!

@@Antonio-yy2ec It's looking like Odysee is going to shut down due to the LBRY lawsuit stopping the underlying network. [1] For Odysee users who like decentralisation, it is time to ask themselves how one company shutting down could kill a whole 'decentralised' network. I have stopped taking blockchain companies and apps seriously, the track record is laughable. Blockchain appears to be good for exactly one thing: Extracting money from gullible investors. I may consider a federated option, like PeerTube [2], I've already switched all my projects' accounts to mastodon (which uses the same protocol), and I'm very happy with what I have seen so far! Hi Bo Boilerplate! Did you ever encountered a mobile game "NEW ORBIT - Episode 1"? For me it is hidden gem and provided me with similar feeling as some of your "fiction podcasts". I has original physics based ship movement and great story! One of the best games I have played on my phone. Recommend you guys try it! I'm not associated with the author (one person) in any way.

Interesting: I get strong Half Life/Black Mesa vibes from the background track. Especially the beginning reminds me of the ambient sounds of both… Was that deliberate? 🙂

HL and indeed Portal, are a HUGE influence on my other show, Lost Terminal, so though I didn't set out to write the music in this style, you've heard right, I bet! Have you seen Lost Terminal? @@NoBoilerplate I am aware of LT, yes. I found it on Spotify a while back and enjoyed it very much! It's funny, now that you point it out I see the themes, but my mind didn't link LT with HL at all, while a couple of seconds of background music here instantly gave me a deeply nostalgic feeling for it 😊 By the way, as I'm sure this doesn't get said often/explicitly enough: Your shows are great. I appreciate that! I'm still using rust every day, teaching it to my Patreon Mentees, and building all my project's websites with my custom Rust static site generator - TPC's website is here, for instance github.com/0atman/ThePhospheneCatalogue I'm sorry that I'm not the pure programming KZbinr you perhaps want me to be. You've not seen the last Rust video of mine, don't worry! But I'm a musician, a producer, a writer, as well as a programmer. I'm too excited about too many things to just talk about one thing in every video :-)
