My First Merch Drop : T-Shirt: tennisbrothers.co/felix-x-end...
Hoodie : tennisbrothers.co/felix-x-end...
Today I went to Paul Skipp to get my rackets customised to my exact specifications for 2024. Each racket comes out of the factory slightly differently , so I go to Paul to weigh them and find out which ones are off and to get them all matched to the exact same weight , swing weight and balance. Part of that process is playing around with it and seeing what I like and what feels good. Of course throughout the season I will always change and switch small things, but this session pretty much sets the tone of my new racket for the year.
Hope You Enjoy :)

@@jerome_morrow Because of his background, skills, service etc. I've had several racquets matched/customised and strung by him over the years and the outcome is top notch every time. Much better than various other 'customisers' I've tried in the UK.

@@vwmusicplaylist1935 That’s great to hear. There are so few good racquet customisers in the UK. Most UK tennis retailers (even the local shops run by coaches) either have no interest in this, or appear to prefer their clientele to blindly believe the racquet they are purchasing has specs exactly as printed on the stick. If the shop has a swingweight machine, it’s always hidden in the back out of view.

This is freaking interesting. Me, an amateur, like playing with Prestige 320g unstrung. I don't like anything lighter than 315g unstrung because it feels like kid's racquet. However, I've never tweaked my racquets. I think I will need to find a 305g racquet and add those 10g around the head. Or maybe even 300g. Thanks!

really nice insight! I would love to hear your specs with the rackets strung. I also did a lot of testing and ended up applying all the lead to the 10 and 2 o'clock positions, because 3 and 9 stabilized the racket a lot and made it feel thinner as you said, but also made me lose some spin, which is one of my main weapons. Additionally adding weight at 12 made the racket too heavy :D I counterbalanced it with adding lead in the handle. I use a VCORE 98, 340 grams strung and also 340 swingweight, balance 320 mm

What are your final specs? Static weight Swingweight
@cyberjonesy
@cyberjonesy 2 ай бұрын
The thing with changing racket specs is what tennisnerd mentioned that it will take about a month to adapt to a new change. The first game you lose with a new spec you will immediately blame it on the racket so be mindful of this ;) Likewise, if you chain up some wins, you might think that this is the perfect fit so its kind of touchy to decide whether you made the right choice or not.

What I understand is: you keep the first stick! put just 1g leadtape on 12. also some weight in handle.then perfect. 》 what about the second stick (with too much swingweight?) Can you adjust it too? or do you look for a better frame more similar to your first frame?

Cool video but I'm amazed that professional customisers still don't match Twistweight. There are good machines now that offer this like the metortune or even just a briffidi with a twistweight adapter.
@jerome_morrow
@jerome_morrow 2 ай бұрын
The Metortune (is a supercool machine but) is less accurate for twistweight measurements than the Briffidi with TW adapter. It extrapolates twistweight from Spinweight minus Swingweight measurements and this technique is prone to error. Also, it’s a close approximation but not true twistweight. Agree that pro customisers should also match for twistweight too.

With your game, you should have a static unstrung weight of 330 and a strung balance of 32.3 and a strung swing weight of 325. You’ll be amazed. Ask him to do one racket like that. Try it for a bit. Your arm might get tired a bit at first but soon enough you’ll be in heaven 🎾
@jerome_morrow

This is a traditional set up which the NextGen guys have moved away from. Alcaraz and Sinner for example use much lighter static weight, head heavier balance and high swingweight (relative to static weight) setups. Not saying Felix wouldn’t benefit from your suggestion, but it would seem at odds with where the young guns are headed.
@kagakai7729
@kagakai7729 2 ай бұрын
Alcaraz's spec is wild. 323 swingweight at the pro level against hitters like Rublev and Sinner is just bonkers. It works for them, though, since these guys are getting more athletic each year, and it's what they're used to.
