I love your room. The one piece of furniture you did not cover in the cost was the movable table. Where might I get that table?
@StitchALLTheThings5 жыл бұрын
I should have covered that as well, but didn't think about it as it was the one piece of furniture I already had in my old small craft space and didn't purchase it recently. I'll have to make a note in the description box about it! Thank you for pointing that out! My husband bought the table base off of Amazon: amzn.to/2F5DrFF Unfortunately this particular base has not been available for quite some time, but there are others that are similar there. (I added the link since it also will pull up similar recommendations.) My base actually happens to be adjustable in the width as well as the height. My husband made the table top and drawer out of oak plywood with some oak trim for the edges. I took one of the left over oak plywood cuts and made the pressing board that stays on the table top. The table top I have ends up being about 30" x 60", but with the adjustable width base it could have been made bigger or smaller. I am in a Sewing Room FB group and recently someone asked about a similar type of table they found at Lowe's ( or maybe Home Depot). Several crafters had that table and loved it. Other crafters mentioned they had found a table like it at IKEA. I haven't researched either of those, but it seemed as if all of the tables came with the table top. You can also find these electronically adjustable in height, rather than manually adjustable. I hope some of that information helps!
@StitchALLTheThings5 жыл бұрын
In doing a quick search as I updated my description box, I found IKEA has the SKARSTA www.ikea.com/ms/en_US/usearch/?query=skarsta and Home Depot has the Husky table www.homedepot.com/p/Husky-62-in-Adjustable-Height-Work-Table-HOLT62XDB12/301810799. Both have them in different lengths.

I did the same thing at Ikea. Had my list. We took the doors off the closet and had a custom unit built in. Then, I used drapes to cover the closet because the unit had drawers in the center. I have a lovely Quilt Studio in our lower level with a Horn Cabinet that my Janome Horizon sits in and a closet full of fabric. I now have so many quilts and have switched to Cross Stitch. But, like you..... I would never sew in the lower level in the evenings - I do my stitching beside my husband in the evenings and we or I should say HE watches either football or now baseball. Enjoy and Happy Stitching and Sewing.... xoxo Maryann

I just stumbled on your video today in 2021. I did my own sewing room three years ago. I too put threads on a spool rack ( yours is much better than mine), but now I’m reconsidering its design because I now have a cat🙀 who has discovered every spool and bobbin and anything else hanging on or around the rack. Also, I began to realize 2 years in that the spools get quite dusty (due to lint) in a sewing room. Just told husband today we need to readdress this issue. New design will be more cabinet-like with glass/plexiglass so my threads are protected from the cat and the dust/lint. You did a great job! It really is a treasured room where a true sewer cannot wait to escape to!👍

Thank you so much! It has really been so great to work in too. I'm really pleased with how well the layout worked. I was worried about it feeling too busy and cramped, but it's really done well for me!

Yours is the first channel I ever subscribed to and now this is my first comment ever. I absolutely love you and your sewing room is perfect. At first I was like "oooooh, the darker paint is better", but then I saw it all put together and you were 100% right going with the lighter one. I was shocked at how low the cost was. Thank you for sharing. Now I'm thinking about my craft room (my husband calls it my "time out" room). You have inspired me. I also want to mention that I am in love with your Chatelaine. I hope you show updates on it more often. I have just ordered my first Chatelaine and am waiting for the kit to arrive. I blame you (in a good way).

Hi, Julie! Wow! What an honor, on both counts! Thank you so much for taking the time to comment! I was with you on the darker paint too. I LOVED that color so much. I did start to worry it would overpower the fabrics though, and Brad told me to start lighter. He promised to not say anything if it turned out too light and I wanted to repaint it darker later. Thankfully lighter turned out to be the right call! I did chuckle at your room being called the "time out" room. That is too perfect! And because you and one other person have mentioned the Chatelaine recently, I am going to work on it this week! Which Chatelaine did you order?! I am so excited for you!!

@@StitchALLTheThings I love that your husband is so supportive. I'm lucky mine is too. I will be doing Herbie. I can never remember the actual name and end up calling it Herbunculus which I know is totally wrong, but I can't control my brain. Herbularium? That doesn't sound right. Herbularius? I truly am obsessed with it despite the fact that I can't remember its name. I mostly stitch HAEDs and I do have a Mira going, but these specialty stitches are intimidating. You seem pretty calm about yours so I figured I could suck it up and try. Yours is truly stunning. It is on my list of possibilities if I decide I like stitching Chatelaines. I'm super excited you are going to stitch more on it. Yay!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Your smile says everything!! You are making me want to make my room more of "me" place than the hodge podge it is now. Ohhh the ruler rack is perfection, great idea! I really love how well organized your fabric is, I don't think I have the patience to fold it all onto boards, but it must make finding fabric so easy!

Thank you so much! That ruler rack was such a great idea of Brad's! I was so happy he came up with it, because it is workingout perfectly! Thankfully I started putting that fabric on boards when my stash was much smaller. LOL!
