There are some areas where the Cutter in all its glory will shine out above the competition. 1. Its a Drake ship, instant win 2. The VTOL means that if you ever really need to go "scat" from somewhere suddenly unfriendly you can. Leave it cranked to max before you leave the ship and if you have to go, just hit it and burn boost. Expect high G effects. Use noise for a stage style disappearance with a flash and bang 3..Wreck site entrenched bounty and clear illegal occupants missions as this thing's combat forte. Guns to 100m converge and if nobody is inside the wreck you need not even land. The ship is quite capable of downing any AI Cutlass Black that shows up, with a bit of care. 4. Fitting scatterguns for better ground attack or if you can get up close and personal may cause unwary opponents to use naughty words, a pair of S2 scatterguns has a definate "safe" and "dangerous" end. 5. Fitting Rattlers in your missile racks (yes you can, 2 x S2 is fine) is rude and you will no longer be invited to the best parties (as a Drake owner just host your own, and the Rambler is the perfect "on tour" location) If that Noble paint job were made available for my Cat, or my Herald, or my Bucc...and it would be acew on the Dragonfly.

Bought the original Cutter last year and upgraded it to the Scout when it released and grabbed the Rambler 'cause, why not? It's a good little ship. The Rambler can carry the PTV if you want something to drive around in while exploring.

I picked one up to use as a Huey helicopter. Bed, desk chair, jump seat, toilet, and pilot. That's 5 places to sit in-flight to prevent from getting knocked around, long flight range. 5 man combat team insertion ship.

I also purchased the Rambler. This is an excellent daily driver / shuttle. It has 3 small hydrogen fuel and 3 small quantum fuel tanks. The other variants have 2ea small fuel tanks. So 50% more range with the Rambler. Most starter ships have only 1 small fuel tank. I did check and all the variants currently have 1960 quantum fuel, so it is just a matter of time until they fix that in game. Even with this bug, the Cutter variants have excellent range. You can actually put a fast QT drive like the Beacon and still get all the way across Stanton quickly without needing to refuel part way.

Bro that's insane, I literally bought it for the fuel capacity cuz it says it in this store description 😂 I love this game to death and will jump to defend it against criticism but I don't think this is a good practice. If you say a ship can do or has something, or should do or have that thing, especially where real money is concerned.

Dont worry, cutter started with 6000 quantum fuel capacity, until the sale was over then got nerfed to its current 1960 fuel. That is still a ridiculous amount of quantum fuel and I have no idea where it is stored. For reference, that is 4x more than most starter sized ships including the Avenger titan which is basically the same size ship. As always CIG shows the balance capability of a drunk Panda. Then you look at the Syulen and its 2900 quantum fuel. That is the same as a Constellation Andromeda LOL, like WTF CIG? Do they just randomly make up stats for each new ship without even taking a glance at current ship stats? My only hope is that this is due to Pyro testing and new ships are taking that into account. But not sure why you cant simply update the capacity of all other older ships to do the same thing. I mean if the density of quantum fuel has changed it would be an easy XML edit to increase all ships quantum fuel capacity by a factor of 3.5x or whatever they need to actually balance capacities across the board. Same as the X1 sale though. Hey all other bikes just lost shields so if you want a bike with a shield, get this new one we are coincidently selling right now. Still not sure how this is legally possible. It would be like Ford selling a vehicle and then a few years down the road reducing the engine performance by reducing the timing in the engine via an OTA update to the computer. Sure you can make new vehicles that have that update, but I already bought mine, you have zero right to change what I already own unless I sign a change acceptance. I do not care in the end though as bikes are disposable items in game. Ridiculous that they now have less shielding and armor and usefulness than a URSA and still cost 4x more in shops. Bikes are less useful than a cyclone and are 10x more expensive than those. How does CIG explain the pricing of hoverbikes cost in lore? If they were a lot faster than a cyclone, sure but I think it is only like 20m/s faster than an RC. They can go over water I guess. But not much to do in the middle of an ocean so not sure how helpful that is.

I like the Cutter as a starter in general. Upgraded mine to smth completly different but thats not where I wanna take this conversation. Havent been in my right mind at that point xD I think the Cutter is a well rounded ship especially as a starter for new Citizens. The Scout is a well fittet upgrade if someone found a place in a group and does not need the 4 SCU anymore. The Rambler is more like the caravan one could say, the issue I have with it tho, is the reduced cargo capcity, not because of it just beeing 2 but you cant lock on the bigger 2 SCU boxes in it. I like the new interior, but would have loved to see maybe extending the ship slightly to incorporate a size 2 cargo grid. I know its meant to be the base hull for all 3 variants, it is still something I would prefer to see for the Rambler, wich would make it an overall upgrade compared to the standard version. Maybe even a Size 2 grid with only one story high, on the roof next to the extended fuel tank (hydrogen I think, since it already has a huge amount of quant) to make it really look like a roof rack, what CiGs intention was, as Ben said on the Inside Star Citizen: Shipping Out.

The problem at the moment is the extra external fuel this ship is supposed to have isn't working. So its got the same QT fuel as the other 2 Cutters. This ship and the Recon version have a bigger energy pool for the guns so you can fire for abit longer than the base cutter.

10:25 The reason you aren't able to pick up the larger ship parts here is because of the thickness of the atmosphere and the gravitational pull of the planet (as well as the weight of the object as you knew). Think this is Microtech, if you were on Clio with a thinner atmosphere and weaker gravitational pull you could totally fling those parts around with the gun no problem. I love the cutter series just really nice packaging. There are a few ships that are just really good at using space. The rambler has 2 yes 2 heavy weapon slots making it a great bunker runner. Once the extra fuel comes in and starts working it might be great for nox and pyro.

For some reason, they haven't increased the ramblers QT capacity, it should be 50% more than the standard rambler, giving it a QT capacity of 2940. You can run around on those settlements just fine. They got shops and gardens and the fps are mostly fine, it's just the "bubble" around them that tanks your fps.

Actually looking at that space and vids i've seen of the X1 hover series I reckon you could put 2 X1's in there sideways at the back! as for a the cutter it has more package space than a syulen so if that's what you want your camper van ship for go get one of the cutter rambler... but beyond that if your willing to pay more for luxury get the syulen it's the premium camper van and in my opinion the the paints are even better... If I was gonna pick a mando like skin for a ship i'd get the freelancer misc but it can provide a shared space for 4, all the same amenities and it's storage is far more the only exception is the clothing closet external storage! Me my Daily solo driver is the Syulen with it's flowing water paint you set me on that path Olli and I thank you for it! However if I was starting out and I hadn't already been playing the game since 2.4.1 I would of chosen this ship over the mustang and aurora had it existed back then easily theres far more room and it has the amenities so what I mean is if your new and your starting out and can't afford a syulen with LTI then just get this cutter rambler when it comes to the store... because if you just want an explorer a cutter rambler seems like a good way to start you could always upgrade it to the freelancer DUR later which is basically a larger 4 personnel version of the rambler! I'm gonna be getting the DUR back when I get my expedition pack I plan to add another $50 to my store credit on Monday i'm slowly working my way towards it this year if that falls through I bought a 2nd syulen pack so regardless of if it fails or it doesn't trying to save for the expedition pack (cause it might be harder for me to get the money for it post april due to certain government funding is gonna be gone) meaning I prob wont get it if I don't reach before then, if that happens I'll use the money I was saving for expedition to upgrade the 2nd LTI Syulen pack to a 400i so it will be a 400i with LTI it's not a carrack and it wont have extra vehicles like in the expedition pack but it will do as our org's main exploration ship backup plan! but if I do succeed i'm gonna have my cake and eat it too and try and slowly upgrade the secondary LTI package to a 400i so I will have a mid level exploration ship between the DUR and the carrack!

Everything else is also the same as the base other than the things that don't do anything in game like the food maker, armor locker and gun rack. My man, you just like the skin you put on it..

The Idea of the Rambler is awesome. I can see using it besides the mentioned ones for passenger-transport. The only issue is that the fuel is same as the others, with more than them it would be a very good ship for cheap living, explo and transport.

it really offers nothing morethanthe basic variant other than the living quarters，even the fuel tanks are the same across the series,despite the advertisement and the in game model tries hard to make usbelieve that. nothing valuable or significant other than that the cargo bay is cut down for essentially nothing.

I started with a cutter and liked it pretty well. I kept thinking I wanted a ship I could enter the pilot seat directly from outside to save some time. After test flying a bunch at the expo, I realized I really like being able to open the door and walk in and be able to enter the cockpit without ladders or going around the outside. Now, I'm really fond of my cutter. I do want to pick up a Terrapin, though.

Probably on oversight on CIG’s part but it currently holds the same amount of fuel as a normal Cutter. The Rambler is the variant we didn’t need to have. Losing cargo space is ludicrous. At least there will be an update to gimble mounts so they will take the same size weapon and mount.

​@cptsacksparrow6532 I upgraded my Cutter to the Scout, as I prefer its enlarged scanning radius and larger cargo hold. It fits the Mule easily with room to spare, so you can access the scanning station easily. No food prep, extra wpn racks or armor locker hurts. But the Mule can hold an SCU crate, so keep half my SCU capacity even with a vehicle!

@@ericwollaston5654 Not to mention the Mule also has its own weapon racks, you can store six 1/8th SCU boxes on the sides of the mule, and fill those with all the food, drink, medical, etc. supplies needed for a long trip in the black. The Scout is the better of the 3 variants because it not only has unique gameplay, but can participate in every other gameloop the other 2 can. IMO, the rambler is a noob trap.

It has too many textures. It's like they stapled many steel panels together to make this ship, and to be honest, that's probably what they did. I'm also not a fan of the transition from the body to the cockpit, the body is sleek and more streamlined while the cockpit is squared and at an angle, it looks weird. If they remade the cockpit and covered the various panels with bigger and thicker ones on the outside I'd love this little bugger as well, it has a cozy feeling. I also really like the interior cockpit panels and the layout is nice.

It's janky, but if you're careful, you can get an X1 into the Rambler. Alternatively, it can also take a PTV, STV, or a Mule. PTV is the easiest, STV you have to crouch on the hood to get through the door, and with the Mule you have to open into the door lol. If you want the best way to describe the Rambler... that would be Hashtag Vanlife lol.

If this had the 4 SCU, had low EM/IR then id really say its worth it. But its losing 2 SCU for... Extra fuel tanks? It does not reflect the extra fuel tanks. It doesn't have any real functionality. The Scanner variant at the very least has bigger components and it will be useful for the 2 SCU loss. What does this variant have the others don't? Just head lights... CIG should give this ship something more...
