Good video. I found the best was to put hydraulic oil in my machine, JCB 8952, is to fill a one gallon bottle from the 5 gallon bucket and just pour it in with a funnel. I tried the pump routine and it was a flop. Also make certian the filter on the cap is clean as pressure is built up in the tank.

Sherman Moore thanks for the heads up I’ll keep that in mind. Can’t imagine using that hand pump to refill the entire 10g after changing.

Great video man also nice truck in the background! I just put my thumb (same genetec as yours) on my mini this weekend, sadly i have to add relief valves. Will the relief valve that goes to the extending side of the cylinder limit the psi for extending and also relieve the pressure if the bucket curls into it? That way the bucket over powers it? Thanks in advance and keep up the good videos

Thank you! Yes the relief valve on mine also relieves back pressure from the bucket curling into it.

Is this the HT830 hydraulic thumb you added?

Yes Gentec HT830

There's no way a person should have to unbolt anything to add hydraulic fluid. There must be a fill cap somewhere.

did you order the hoses as well or did you get them locally?+ if you got the hoses from gentec, did it come with the everything in it?
@CountyLineGarage2 жыл бұрын
I had the hoses made locally. Triad/Parker stores are a national chain might have one nearby otherwise just google hydraulic shop or many equipment dealer or rental places can make them as well. Have to get all of the required fittings too for your particular application. I believe the hoses and fittings were around $160 and they made them for me right there while I waited.

How's this thumb holding up? how many hours have you put on since install?
@CountyLineGarage Жыл бұрын
It held up decent, I’ll be adding a few gussets to the mounting on the stick. I’ll have a video soon fixing it. I bent the hell out of it trying to yank a big log out the other day.

video of fixing the bend is up. I would say over all the thumb held up well for what it's intended to do. I would add gussets from the main pin housing to the stick if you plan on getting carried away with it. don't use it to rake riprap side to side and don't use it to drag large logs side to side without gusseting and expecting some damage.
