Damn good choice selling the last one, this new one is a beauty! A new prop and an engine/engine mount inspection would be a lot less expensive than the last project. Plus, you'll be up in the air sooner!

Nice looking bird. As an instrument rated pilot..a couple of things. The more sensitive the handling aircraft...the more difficult in flying hard IFR. Also..the prop strike might mean a mid time engine would be less expensive than a rebuild. Looking forward to seeing this one fly!

Thanks for the feedback. I don't want to or plan to do hard IFR. I only want to be able to get through a deck of clouds at least 1000 AGL for departure or arrival. No interest in flying to minimums or into icing conditions.

What's Will Doing Been there done that...at night...You are wise to avoid it. There is a certain satisfaction in doing it well but it takes continuous practice. I haven't shot an approach in a long time. Stating the obvious...you still need the rating for climbing through clouds. I took a non IFR pilot into that situation. Took him only a few seconds to lose it. Let us know your opinion of the aircraft. I may get serious about one. Doran Jaffas
