They are all brand new just sitting in my home taking up space. Gotta put them up for sale! So much money is wasted on unnecessary gimmicky things lol

For folks who are financially unable to afford all these items, replace breastfeeding pillows by stacking bedroom pillows and rolling up bath towels, wedging them under your arm and baby, also really works!

People offended by Jenn's essentials are just weird. She has the money to buy comfort and things to make her life more pratical. That's nice. No one needs to buy all of this, but you should stop shamming her and making comments like "all your kid need is love". Yes, that's the most important thing, but if they can afford things to make life a bit more comfortable, that's fine and people should stop judging that.
@jasmineliu45482 жыл бұрын
The problem is that she's calling these "essentials", which makes other new moms think that they are not doing enough for their kids if they don't have those "essentials".
@breneworld3 жыл бұрын
Out of all the items mentioned, I would say the most helpful (in my motherhood journey) has been a diaper pail, breastfeeding pillow and an electric breast pump. Also, we started using white noise machines with our 2nd child and that helped us all fall asleep better. On another note, I see many viewers state the items on the video are expensive, just know that they are not a necessity. Your babies will be fine as long they have you to assist them with their needs. Our grandmothers and mothers did fine without any of the modern technologies and so will you.

Just for all those new mums out there who haven't got a lot of money: I have two kids, youngest has just turned 6 months and i do not have any of these products. You can get by fine with cheaper versions of everything or even omit some of these purchases. It's the moments you create with your baby that matters most, not the materialistic things :)

Hey Jen, My baby just turned 3 months and my hubby and I have been getting a full nights sleep thanks to this schedule I picked up from the book Moms on Call. For 8-16 weeks baby 5 am feed 6:30 am 1 hour half nap 8 am Feed then play 9:30 am 1 hours and half nap 11 am feed then play 12: 30 am 1 hours and half nap 2pm feed them play 3:30 pm 1 hours and half nap 5 pm feed then play 6:30 cat nap 45-1hr nap 7: 30 pm bath time routine 8:00 pm bedtime feeding then play 8: 30 put crib Literal lifesaver the first couple of nights the baby will fuss a little bit but you have to let him cry it out and put himself to sleep. The fox say so you can rub his belly to see him but do not pick him up from the crib. After that he will love sleeping in his own crib all night with this new schedule 😊

A lot of the items featured aren’t feasible for my family, but what really helped us was a swing. Putting him in for a nap while I take quick shower helped. It’s also good for my husband as well for his virtual meetings. Our little guy will nap in it. Our sister in law loves it as well and most likely give it to her since she’s a mom of a 2 month old.

Good to see you Jen! I just wanted to comment on one thing. While mentioning the breastpump you said that milk is stimulated from the nipples. I know what you meant, but if case people don't know, milk comes from the mammary glands deep in the breast tissue. That's why it's very important for the baby to have a deep latch to avoid irritating the nipple. Congrats again!

Hi Jenn! Dunno why I started watching this since mine are past this stage, but I have a tip on the Haakaa! I used the one you're using in the video for my first, but for my second, I upgraded to the Haakaa Ladybug Silicone Milk Collector, which was a game changer for me. It is like the Haakaa you're using, but it doesn't have suction. Instead, you slip it into your nursing bra and it collects leaked milk without spills or the Haakaa popping off (as it sometimes does). Since you can put it in your shirt, it's very discreet if you're breastfeeding while friends and family are around or if you're out.

This is her video and her suggestions. If you dont have the budget or find these items useful, just leave it alone. This is what she can afford and what she found helpful for her child. She was willing to invest in these products. You dont have to. It’s as simple as that.

For everyone hating on Jenn saying that these are all expensive items and inaccessible for “normal” people, she clearly stated “MY” in the title. You could also easily find these secondhand on Facebook marketplace or Mercari. The way I see it is, these items are investments, if you plan on having more than one kid. you could also make some money off of them once you’re done with them. And honestly if you have some money saved up, these items could be attainable. BUT you could get by with cheaper alternatives that get the job done just the same, after all our mothers and grandmothers managed to keep us alive lol. Let first time moms live their life.

A tip someone said for changing baby boy diapers is to wipe around the pubic bone then tuck it under the diaper there for a couple mins so they pee before diaper change. I started doing it and he hasn't peed on me since (been a couple months now). Milage may vary. Lol. I am going to try teether mitts this weekend. They are 3 mths and teething already! 😬 I also need a jolly jumper and something for the to sit up in as they just want to jump and sit now....

I have a one year old and half of the things mentioned here aren’t essentials in my opinion…and you can definitely either get cheaper alternatives or preloved items for free or at a more affordable price. It’s really not that expensive to care for a newborn, especially if you are ok w hand me downs. Not wise to spend that much money on such things I feel, seeing that babies outgrow these things really quickly. But hey, if you have the money to splurge on such things, you do you.

Our Pediatrician asked us at his 9 month appointment if he had started pulling himself up yet. I set him down from my lap and he walked right to him and all over the exam room. The Dr. laughed and said well has he started college yet lol. He is 16 now and is clumsy just like his Mom. So walking early didn't do much except for my husband's and my waistline running after him.

I find new mums love to splurge on lots of baby essential things. But i did find there is alot what you end up not need to. Which i would just buy the actual essentials or something that you would get alot of use too. Or going to have loads of babies in the future to use them again. Even in hospital bag pack i see people pack so much you don’t really know until you give birth what you actually will be using. And your partner can always bring them if need when they visit. I didn’t cut my son’s nails until he was one year’s old i just use mittens and also baby gros have that function too. Baby steriliser i just use the bottle steamer after washing the bottles.
